From the previous chapter...

"Are you going to ignore me?" Stacey said

My guy, yes, as you can see

"You should not let arguments like that bother you. In friendship, you have to be tolerant"

"Did I just hear friendship?"

continuing...

"Yes, Alex!"

"You know what, maybe you should go and meet Miller and be his friend"

"Aww do not be like that. Do you know how many lonely days I am going to have without you? You want all those bullies lining up just to pour a drink on my head in the cafeteria?"

"Fine, fine. On one condition, you buy me a big bowl of ice cream and order all the clothes I need for my Instagram post from forever 21"

"Fine, should I give you a ride to school?"

"Whatever"

We got to school and I went to pick my books from my locker

Smith's pov

"Hey, Miss Second. I wanted to ask you why you were angry with me yesterday. You know I got so handsome recently and it is for you. Think of it this way, I want our relationship to change but you are too stubborn. Would you change for me?"

"Stop right there Miller. First of all, move your face away from mine. you are evading my personal space. Don't think that speech of yours is going to make my heart flatter, the only people that are going to work on are those girls gawking over you there" I pointed to the group of girls who seemed to be analyzing his back structure.

"Sure says the girl who is blushing." I can't believe he noticed that!

"Miller, I can't believe you are better than me in biology. You sure only do well in exams but fail to put it to practice. The handsomeness you have is part of your gene and it is puberty. Me blushing is my hormone, not me"

"Wow, your hormones are falling hard for me"

"Creep. Let's get this straight. First, we have no relationship in the first place, you are just a rival. Secondly, I would never change for someone like you or would like to be your friend. Now be a good rival and just give up"

With that, she left. She hurt my feelings. She has a really tough heart and no one can get through it. I wish I knew what made her like this.

"Smith, just leave the chick alone, she would come back crawling to you" Mike my best friend said.

"Mike she is not a chick, do not ever call her that. She just needs someone who would help get through whatever she is going through."

"I still can't believe you want to help that girl. She is a project that you would fail no matter how smart you are"

The day went by and soon the club started. The four of us again and we worked on our speech. As the team leader, I grouped everyone and gave them parts to practice and research on. Club time was over and I saw Alex heading out. I quickly packed up and rushed to meet her but she was talking to Stacey.

"Stacey, can I borrow your friend here for a few minutes?"

"O-okay. I would be waiting in the car" She signaled to Alex. She left and I grabbed the opportunity to talk to her

"Can we go somewhere private, I would like to speak with you"

"We can talk here," she said stubbornly. I dragged her to where only two of us can hear ourselves.

"So about this morning..."I said playing with my fingers

"I thought I told you to stay away from me" I placed my hands on her neck flipping her hair so I can only make contact with her skin. I made her face me simultaneously evading her personal space.

"What can I do to soften this your tough heart. What can I do to make our relationship change?" She flinched at my touch. I saw the fear in her eyes as she quickly detached herself from my hands. Her face hardened again as if she did not want me to see her expression.

"If this is a confession, No. Who told you that you can touch me. Sexual harassment is not a good crime at the age of 15. Being a minor, I suggest you refrain from that or you would end up in juvenile"

"What can I do to make us friends, to change our relationship?"

"Rival, give up!. There is no friendship and stop talking like we are in a relationship. Don't you know that as you are growing you need to know how to talk to girls too, you are 15 for crying out loud? If you say this to a girl that likes you, she might get the wrong idea."

"So, do you like me?"

"Of course not. Just give up a rival, everything. I would be waiting for you." With that, she left and I felt more heartbroken. Maybe I should take her advice and also know how to talk to girls.
