The Dark Board

Yeosang

I was sleeping peacefully in my bed not giving a damn what's happening in the world on the other side of that door that separates me from everything else until, my beauty sleep was rudely interrupted by a loud knock or should I say pounding on my door. "Yeosang!, you better get your ass out of that bed before you make us all late for school and you better have packed your things." I hear Seonghwa Hyung's loud voice screeching. Me being persistent on sleeping, just rolled over when I hear another loud bang on my door and hyung's annoying voice on the other end. "Kang Yeosang I swear to god if you just ignored me and rolled over I will tell Jongho to snap you like one of his apples!" He threatened. I just sighed as I rolled over and sat upright death glaring at the door. "I'll be down 10 minutes!" I decided to answer him as I began to get ready for yet another long and tiring day, and to add on to all that we are also moving into our new dorm today. I grab my needed things to get ready for the long day ahead of me and head to the bathroom.

When I got to the bathroom, the first thing I did was look at my handsome face in the mirror, then finished my usual morning routine. When I finished I made my way back to my room to get my necessary stationary and books needed. I went to my study desk and got my things saying it like I'm mentally checking it off on my checklist. "Pen, pencil, easer, ruler, math textbook and notebook." I say out loud as I put each piece of equipment in my bag, but as I pick up my math notebook a piece of neatly folded paper falls out of book. I think to myself as I watch the page fall to the ground. Had I put it in there? Without giving a second thought and just brushing it off I bend down under my chair where the page had fallen and picked it gently up off the floor. I scan the white piece of fallen paper carefully noticing that it seems to have writing on it. I set my book bag down on my desk chair and open the mysterious piece of paper. When I open it, it reads:

For this is where it all starts Yeosang

I flip the mysterious page over and that is all that it says which I kind of find a bit ominous in all honesty. I try to think where it could have came from when a knock on my room door disturbs my train of thought. When I turn around I quickly shove the piece of paper in my pocket and face Wooyoung who had been the one that had knocked. I smile at him and he returns it. "Yeosangie, we have to get going and Seonghwa hyung says we should come down and have breakfast." He says with his head poked in through my door. "I'll be right down let me just get my book bag." I say to him turning around and getting my bag and making my way over to him at the door and completely throwing the thought of the weird note I got out the window and heading down stairs.

And like a stampede we rush down the stairs and pile into the kitchen doorway all at once miraculously almost fitting into it. I got me some yogurt cause I was hungry but no idea what to eat, so yogurt it is. Then Seonghwa hyung started going on about being early and how the new people are going to be here tonight so we should be out before then and blah blah. Then he got up put his plate in the sink and got ready to leave. I stood up with rest and threw the empty yogurt container away and walked out the kitchen towards the door and got my bag and walked out of the house. I was the first one outside waiting at the gate staring at the door to see when are they gonna walk out. I turned around and faced the street. Across the road I would have sworn I saw a someone running in the shadows then before disappearing, turning to give me a quick glace. I thought I saw wrong so I rubbed my eyes and looked to that direction again too see nothing. Confused beyond compare I start to think what could it have been when my mind drifted back to the piece of paper I found earlier. "What a weird morning, first I get rudely awaken, then find a weird piece of paper and now I'm seeing things. I'm totally losing it." I say to myself while shaking my head to clear it. "What are you doing?" I look up to see Mingi giving me a questionable look. "Nothing just a fly buzzing around my head." I say making up the saddest excuse in the world. "Well instead of shaking your head like an idiot swat it with your hand next time." Mingi says walking away to annoy Jongho. I can't believe he bought that sad ass of an excuse.

So far today has started off extremely weirdly, but what does that note mean?

While on the walk to campus I kept getting that eery feel of my every move being watched but I thought I was just paranoid after supposedly seeing that shadowy looking man watching me at home so I quickly shook that feeling off.

The moment we stepped foot in the campus Hongjoong hyung was already going on about us not being late. "Don't forget, straight home this afternoon otherwise if your not there we'll leave everything that belongs to you here and the new owners can throw it away." Hongjoong hyung tells us with the most cheekiest smile. "Then where should we meet after school so we can make sure where not late so you guys don't sacrifice our belongings?" I ask eyeing him head to toe while he just stands there and smiles smugly back at me. "How about by the benches outside on the field close to the gate?" Mingi questions looking around for acceptance of his suggestion. "Perfect! Then we'll meet there, well I kinda have to go cause I'm late for my first lecture, see ya." Wooyoung says and scurries off. And one by one we all make our way to our lectures. I hope the rest of my day is normal.
