The Dark Board

I had just gotten up from the best sleep I've had in ages, and I must say I feel so refreshed. I sit up on my bed admiring the view that I will no longer be able to see everyday because we are moving. I stand up and make my way over to the window smiling at the beautiful scenery at hand.

After my little admiration session I make my way towards my walk in closet to see what I could possibly put on when the weather seemed so amazing outside. So I settled and ended up grabbing a white button up that was kind of dip died baby blue on the end with a baby blue skinny to match the shirt I had on and a pair of classic vans. I take my things and make my way towards the bathroom when I caught a glimpse of our youngest member heading to the same destination as mine. We lock eyes and make direct eye contact. At that moment I knew now was my time to put these god given long limbs to good use. I made off straight up sprinting towards the bathroom door, Jongho too and that was the moment I thought I'd made it but to my sorrow he practically flew past towards the door leaving me in the dust. He stood there snickering. "Ha, I'm first sorry hyung I guess you need to wait your turn." He says in a mocking tone with his hand on the door handle. "I don't understand why we have to do this every morning." I say turning around and just making my way back to my room and waited for him to finish his business.

Long story short I got to do my usual morning routine while listening to hyung wake everyone up like he usually does. I casually make my way downstairs and I don't know what it is but something just doesn't feel right, I don't know, but it could just be my imagination. When I get downstairs with rest from our morning stampede down the stairs, we all attack the kitchen looking for left over's, cereal or just any form of something edible in a house full of nothing but boxes and an empty fridge. After finding some form of food I sit by the table and munch away at my food while the rest of the guys where talking about something I wasn't paying attention to. Then Seonghwa hyung started going on about being early and how the new people are going to be here tonight so we should be out before they get here and it should be clean and so on. I place my used bowl in the sink and make my way out making sure no one sees me. I head back upstairs towards my room to do one last check on all my things to see if there in order. As I was about place my hand on the door handle out of the corner of my eye I swear I saw someone disappear down the stairs which is impossible because its just me up here all the other guys are downstairs still and if there was anyone else up here I would of heard them because its extremely quite. The whole thought sends chills down my spine so I choose to shrug the weird feeling off as my eyes playing tricks on me and head inside my room. I do my last minute checking to see if I have everything. When I was hundred percent sure I wasn't forgetting anything I make my way downstairs to see the guys all making the way out of the kitchen and towards the door so we can leave. I just follow along and grab my bag and head outside towards the gate I noticed that all the guys look so spooked today. But maybe its just them being nervous because moving, maybe I'm just over thinking it. We walk all the way to our campus and I must say the way the sun is shining today feels so refreshing. I turn to my left and see Mingi looking at me weirdly I just smile back at him. "What's with you today?" He questions me and my happy mood, I look back at him with the same smile on my face. "Today is just such a nice day and I'm simply just appreciating it." I say earning a silent 'oh' from him. "Carry on then." He says gesturing me to carry on with what I was doing. I laugh at his silliness and continue our walk to campus. The moment we stepped foot in the campus ground Hongjoong hyung was already going on about us not being late. "Don't forget, straight home this afternoon otherwise if your not there we'll leave everything that belongs to you there and the new owners can throw it away." Hongjoong hyung tells us with the most cheekiest smile. "Then where should we meet after school so we can make sure where not late so you guys don't sacrifice our belongings?" Yeosang ask eyeing him head to toe while he just stands there and smiles smugly back at him. "How about by the benches, outside on the field close to the gate?" Mingi questions looking around for acceptance of his suggestion. "Perfect! Then we'll meet there, well I kinda have to go cause I'm late for my first lecture, see ya." Wooyoung says and scurries off. "Guys." Hongjoong hyung says. "Yeah hyung what's wrong?" Jongho asks tilting his head to side. "I think we should all get going before we're all late." He says looking at his watch. "Yeah hyung we should really get going or else we might be late, see ya later." I say dragging San away with me since we have the same class first. And at this point San is practically letting me drag him away.

Time skip to a couple hours later

My lectures are done for the day and it's only 13:10 so I have like and hour and half until the others are done for the day. "What am I gonna do for the rest if that time?" I asked myself. I decided that I'm just gonna get some lunch and head to the benches to wait for the rest of the guys.

I got my food and headed to the benches and when I found one to sit at the was this neatly folded piece of paper set on the table with a pebble on top of it to weigh it down so the breeze doesn't blow it away. "What's this?" I say as I gently remove the paper from under the pebble and look around to see if I can see anyone that sat at this table. I turn my attention back to the paper and examine it a little before carefully unfolding it to see it's contents. When I fully open the page it has a weird statement on it.

Was written on the piece of paper. Who could have left it here, why for me, what does that even mean. Where all the questions running through my head. And I was so deep in thought that I didn't even notice Mingi walk past me and sit down right in front of me. "What are you thinking so hard about that you can't even acknowledge my presence? " he said slightly startling me back to reality. I look up to see him looking very intently at me with his chin on his hands waiting for my response to his question. "O-oh when d-did you get here, nevermind, I was just thinking about some topic we discussed today that I was confused about that's all sorry I didn't pay attention to you." I said making up some sad excuse. He just nodded his head and started scrolling on his phone. When he bent down his head I swear that I saw somebody lurking in the shadows of the trees behind us. I tap Mingi on his arm to get his attention, " Do you see that over there behind the trees? " I ask him. He seems confused by my question and turns around. He scans the area and says, "Oh you mean the cute little black cat over there." He says pointing at it and turning back to me as I try to find what I just saw. "Yeah it's really cute isn't it." I said and fake smile as I try to wrap my head around things.

That was really weird now, what even happened? I shrugged it off and put the small piece of paper I didn't know I was gripping in one of my books and shoved it in my bag.
