A few lifeless days passed by and it was finally Sports Day. Today, Erza, Levy and Lucy got up earlier than usual and prepared for Sports Day. All three of them have formed a team called 'New Era (NE)' which definitely will be exceptionally strong.
They reached school prepared, having finished stretch exercises.
There were many teams and the first event was volleyball. The announcer said, "First girls team in-game is... TEAM NE!" All the girls cheered for the trio as the boys jeered. No sportsmanship at all.
Next up was the sprinting event for boys and girls. On the noticeboard wrote: Team NE vs Team GN (Gray & Natsu) "Okay, so any suggestions on the placings?" Erza asked Levy and Lucy. Lucy raised her hand and spoke when Erza nodded, "You and Levy pick between 100m and 200m. Since I'm better at long distances, I'll take up the 600m and 1500m, alright with you two?" They nodded.
Let the games begin. (A/N: CUT, CUT, CUT! How many times did you hear it in NaLu fanfics? I had, a ton.)
First came the 100m, which Levy took part in. She was up against Black Meadows. "Ah, nice to meet your teammate, but I'm nailing this." Levy confidently smiled. Needless to say, she came in first overalls and in the race.
Second was the 200m, which Erza took part in. Erza was okay with long distances. Lucy reminded Erza, "Even speed at the first 100m, Erza. Don't overdo it! Sprint at the final part!"
Erza nodded. She was up against Gray from Team GN. Lucy smirked. Thankfully it was a guy, since Erza hated guys, she would definitely NOT lose to them. Gray made a mistake by exploding from the starting blocks. He ran out of stamina at the final 80m and Erza overtook him easily, winning the race.
"Oooooops." Erza, Levy and Lucy said in unison, choking back their laughter. "Hn." Gray tsk-ed at their childish attitude.
Then came the 600m. Lucy was paired up with Natsu, Loke, and a few other guys. No girls made it in to the 600m, hm? Lucy thought silently. Lucy was determined to win.
"On your marks..." The person raised the air gun.
"Set..." He pulled the air gun's trigger.
"GO!"
Lucy was striding at the first curve. When she reached the second curve, she started sprinting at full speed, feeling the wind's cold, hard slaps.
She could hear all the girls cheering for her, which boosted up her speed even more. Lucy couldn't see anything else. Only the finishing line. "LU-CHAN! GO! GO!" Lucy heard Levy. Lucy was leading.
Lucy sprinted faster than ever, and hit the finishing line. After that came Natsu, who toppled onto Lucy breathlessly. "*pant* Nat... su... get off me... *pant*" Lucy said, out of breath.
Erza stormed towards them and pulled Natsu away from Lucy. "Off her." She angrily snarled and pulled Lucy towards the water point and gave her a cup of water.
Then came the 1500m. Natsu was disqualified for his "indecent" act as complained by Erza, so it was only Loke and Lucy left. The other guys all got eliminated for their timings in 600m. "My princess against me? Oh, how sweet." (A/N: A lil' LoLu fluff coming right up...)
"Sure, how sweet." Lucy replied sarcastically, receiving a chuckle in return. "I'm all fired up!" Loke shook his finger, "Oh princess, you're turning like Natsu!" (A/N: I mean... NaLu fluff...)
Lucy's cheeks burned up and she shook the weird, fuzzy feeling inside her heart off. She prepared for the race and when she heard the air gun gunshot sound, she started to stride. When she was at her last 100m, she began sprinting. She has totally forgot about Loke, who was still far behind her.
Lucy sprinted through the finishing line and dropped dead right after it. Loke spotted Lucy at the finishing line and started sprinting even faster. Lucy was visibly out of breath and dead.
Loke coughed. "Ahem, I think it'll be the right time to do this..." He smirked as he carried Lucy up bridal-style. Lucy, who seemingly was "dead" seconds ago, wiggled out of his grasp and launched a 'Lucy Kick' at Loke. Loke, who just got kicked, was fangirling about Lucy kicking him. (A/N: Just wow, Loke. -_-) Natsu rushed over and kicked Loke too, for no apparent reason... (A/N: Or is he... jealous?)
Lucy dragged her feet back to Erza and Levy. "Team NE is the champion!" The announcer announced, hanging a medal around Lucy's neck. Lucy smiled awkwardly and her knees dropped to her floor. Yep, she's dead, if even a light medal could make her legs go jelly.
