"Adeline, where have you been?" I asked as she sat down across from me. I've been in my office, because Adeline was gone during lunch. I was about to go see Xandra, until Adeline came back.

"I was out.. with Isla."

"Do not tell me you slept with Isla too."

"No! We've become friends, and she said she likes girls. I asked if I could take her on a date one day, and she said yes. Soooo, Friday around eight." Adeline replied.

"Oh! I'm proud of you, for taking her out on a date before sleeping with her. Anyway, I have to see Xandra. I have to tell you stuff later, want to stay at my house tonight?" I asked.

"Yes, it'll be fun! As long as you don't go to sleep at eight. We can drink a little, catch up, and watch some scary movies." Adeline said, as we left my office.

"Fine. I'll leave here soon, around six? That'll give us til at most ten thirty." I replied. We were outside of Xandra's office. She looked very concentrated.

"Alright, fine. What're you making for dinner, ooo or do you want to order out?" She asked.

"I don't feel like cooking, nor am I good at it. You know that! We can order out. How does Chinese sound? Or Italian?"

"Hm, Italian. Now, go in there lover." She said. I rolled my eyes, and knocked on her office door.

"Glad to see you're back, y/n." Xandra said, not looking at me.

"Yeah, you too. How was lunch?" I asked. She shrugged, and finally looked at me. Her eyes are so pretty.

"It was fine, I ordered out. How about you?" She asked. She sounded genuine, I'm starting to like her. I don't want that, because then I'll catch feelings.

"I didn't eat, Adeline was busy with my assistant and I didn't bring anything. So, I just did work in my office." I replied. She tilted her head.

"Here, eat this." She handed me some of her salad.

"It's mine from earlier, but you can have it. You need to eat, so don't even deny it." She put it in front of me.

"Thank you, I was going to eat later though. So it's really no problem." I insisted.

"Honey, you need to eat three meals a day. I'm sure you didn't eat breakfast, and I'm sure you're hungry. Now, eat it." She replied.

"Fine."

"Thank you. Now, let's continue this." She said. I nodded, and we continued the project. The project was something big for the company, we weren't supposed to talk about it with other people.

A while later, it was five thirty. I was going to leave soon, but I hadn't told Xandra yet.

"So, can I ask you something?" I looked at Xandra. I wanted to know why she chose me to do this project with her.

"Hm?"

"May I ask why you picked me to be on this project with you? I mean, you said you didn't have a choice, but you do because you're the boss." I said. She licked her lip.

"I chose you, because you're the smartest one who works here. Everyone else are complete idiots. Well, not entirely, but you know what I mean." She replied. I nodded.

"Why're you asking, anyway?"

"I don't know, I was curious." I replied.

"Anyway, do you have any plans tonight?" She asked. Maybe we would become friends..

"Adeline is coming over, and we're going to talk about things, watch movies, and eat Italian food." I replied.

"Are you and Adeline together?" She asked. I almost laughed.

"What? No, of course not. She's my best friend, I think of her as a sister. Also, she's about to go on a date with my assistant. So, I mean." I replied. I wondered why she asked me that, but I guess she could just be curious. A lot of people thought Adeline and I were together, even my parents. I've only known Adeline for a few weeks, but it seems like forever.

"I see."

"Yeah.. anyway, do you have any plans?" I asked. She shook her head.

"No, I'll probably fall w sleep once I get home. I usually stay late, and my husband is asleep by the time I'm home." She replied. Fuck, I forgot she's married. I stopped smiling, I didn't like the fact she had a husband. I didn't even notice, no matter how many times someone would say Mrs.

"Something wrong?"

"No. Oh, look at the time. It's six, I have to go. Have a good night, Xandra." I said, and I got up and quickly left.
