Bosses Regret.

Chapter six

I ran into Adeline outside of Xandra's office, and she said bye to Isla.

"What's wrong with you? It seems like you just saw something scary." She laughed.

"I'll tell you later, let's just go to my house for now." I replied. She nodded, and we left. When we got to my house, we ordered Italian food, and turned on a scary movie to watch. A few hours into the night, we've had many drinks, and we've gone through many movies.

"Right, so what's going on with you and Xandra?"

"She's starting to call me pet names, she cares if I ate or not, and she's asking about my personal life." I said. She looked surprised.

"So.. do you still hate her or not?"

"I don't know. I forgot she had a husband, and she brought him up today. I felt jealous, but I have no reason to be. I don't even have feelings for her. Plus, she's not even gay." I replied.

"Maybe not gay, but she could be bisexual. You never know, y/n. What'd she ask about your personal life?" Adeline asked.

"That's true. Anyway, she asked if you and I were together. It was quite funny, to be honest." I said. Adeline laughed.

"Right, I think it's funny everyone thinks we're together. Anyway, how was your day with my assistant?" I asked.

"Good, she's very beautiful. She's kind, and really funny. I hope we work out." She said.

"Me too, you deserve to be happy!"

"Oh, shut up. I'm rooting for you and Xandra, even if she does has a husband." Adeline replied.

"She did tell me that she stays at the office really late, and when she goes home her husband is asleep." I said.

"Seeee? You have a chance!"

"Shut up, will you? I don't want a chance, I don't think a relationship with my boss would be the greatest idea. Yes, she's attractive, and can be sweet, but that's also my boss." I said.

"I didn't ask for the second part of that, you just ranted on about her. You like herrr." She teased.

"I do not!"

"Whatever you say. Anyway, y/n. I should leave now, it's late and I'm tired. I'll see you at work tomorrow. Goodnight, I love you!"

"Goodnight, I love you too." I replied. And with that, Adeline left and I got ready for bed.

I couldn't sleep, Xandra was on my mind. How could I be falling for my boss? I kept denying my feelings, but they wouldn't go away. I love her attitude, and how she barely gives a shit. But she can be caring, and cares if I ate or not. I don't know if she's trying to play nice, for the sake of our work, or if she wants to be friends. This is all so confusing. I'll just sleep it off.

The next morning, I didn't wake up early. I would've been late if I went for coffee, so I skipped it. Adeline came in late, which isn't surprising.

"Good morning, y/n. I brought you coffee, I assumed you'd wake up late and wouldn't have time to get it. I hate seeing you without coffee, so here." She said, as she placed it down on my desk.

"You know me so well, Adeline. Unfortunately for you, you were almost twenty minutes late!" I replied. She shrugged.

"Oh well, at least I got you coffee. How busy is your day, today?" She asked me.

"I don't have any clients today, thank god. I just have to see Xandra all day." I replied.

"On a scale of one to ten, how nervous are you to go back in there?"

"Ten."

"Yeah, I thought so. It'll be fine, y/n. She probably just thought you were tired, and wanted to leave to hang out with me for a bit." She said. I nodded.

"I was supposed to be in there ten minutes ago." I said. She pushed me out of my chair, and then out of my office.

"Go in there, y/n. Don't piss her off by being late, everyone will have to deal with it! Now, go."

"Okay, fine. Calm down." I said, and I knocked on her office door.
