"Good morning, y/n. You're early, so now it's time to fill you in on stuff!" Adeline said, as I drank my coffee and opened my office door.
She sat across from me, "so the other day I went out with this guy. He was attractive, seemed sweet, and he took me to a fancy restaurant." She started. I nodded.
"And then, he was acting like a teenager. He didn't have a real job, and I had to pay for the dinner." She continued.
"Ridiculous."
"I know, right?! Then, there was this guy Tony. H-"
"Tony..? Really, Adeline?"
"Will you shut up?! He was probably the nicest out of all the people I've been out with lately." She replied.
"And how many people is that?"
"Like, 9? Maybe more. I don't know." She said. I nodded. Before she could continue, there was a knock on my door. It was Isla.
"Good morning, Ms. y/l/n. Here's all the paperwork you have today, and some clients have appointments with you. I've wrote down the times, and what they're interested in on talking to you. Mrs. Terrell also requested you be in her office soon." Isla said.
"Thank you, Isla." I replied. She nodded, and left.
"Busy day for you, Ms. y/l/n!" Adeline said, mocking Isla.
"Shut up, I told her to call me y/n, but she doesn't. I hate my last name, and would much rather have her use my first." I said.
"Your last name isn't that bad."
"Don't."
"Fine! Go see Mrs. Terrell, then. Ooo, you know what? Maybe you can have her last name when you guys get married. Y/n Terrell. Has a nice ring to it." Adeline ranted.
"Oh my god, shut up. I'm not marrying her! You're reaching. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see Xandra. Also, get out of my office." I said. She groaned.
"Yours is so much better than mine though, mines just boring." Adeline complained.
"Then maybe design it better? Have better taste, or get a designer. Until then, get out until I'm back." I said.
"Fine, you ass. Don't take long, my day is boring and I feel like annoying you all day." She said as we left my office.
"Yeah, yeah. Unfortunately, I have work to do, so you will not be annoying me. Go out to lunch or something, or talk to the people in here." I replied. We stood outside of Xandra's office, and I could see her through the glass. She looked very beautiful, and she had a cigarette in her hand. Somehow, she made smoking look attractive.
"Why would I do that? We literally don't like half the people here, oh and I've slept with half of these people. That'd be awkward." She said.
"That's your fault, then. Go talk to Isla, you haven't slept with her."
"Fine. Have fun in here, Ms. y/n Terrell." She said laughing.
"You're not funny."
"Yes, I am!" She yelled down the hallway. I ignored her, and knocked on Xandra's office door.
"I didn't know the outside of my office, was a gossiping area." Xandra said, as she looked up at me.
"Oh, my bad. Excuse me for having friends, maybe if you made some friends, you'd understand." I replied. Probably not the best choice of words, but who cares, right? Although, she looked very pissed off.
"I have many friends, I don't have any here because I don't want to make friends with the people who work for me." She stated.
"Or, it's because nobody likes you much. Which ever works for you." I replied. I felt bad..
"Good, maybe they respect me more. We're here to work, not make friends." She said. Bull shit.
"Now, let's get to work, shall we?" She asked. I nodded, and we began to work. To be honest, this whole time I wasn't concentrating. I was focused on Xandra, just something about her was really attractive.
I didn't want to find her attractive, especially because she was my boss. The way she talked, and had such passion in her work was adorable. She always seems like a bitch, but when she's talking about her work, she seems so.. sweet.
"Y/n, are you listening?"
"Oh, yes. Sorry."
"What're you thinking about, dear? You seem a bit off." She asked. Is this Xandra caring...?
"Nothing, I was just thinking about the project. That's all." I lied.
"Let's take a break, it's almost lunch. Go eat." She stated. I didn't bring lunch, I forgot it in the fridge. I could ask Adeline if she wanted to go out for lunch.
"I'll be back in a few hours, I also have clients that need to see me so I'll be back in a couple hours." I replied. She nodded.
