William had stopped crying over his almost lover and both him and Alison was thrown back into the cold reality of the room. They finally became aware of the sliver rain droplets that rolled down the window and the strong pitter-patter sound that surrounded the house. Alison snatched her phone from the warm security of her pocket and read the last notification.
"Orange weather warning, I guess you're staying here tonight" she said softly still worried for the captain. "Anyway would you like tea, coffee maybe something to eat"
"That would be nice" he says with a smile painted across his face.

They made their way to the kitchen as memory's began flooding back to William with every step he took. He glanced out of the window as heavy rain drops hit the gravel, in the distance he spotted a lake. The lake him and the captain spent so many night looking into each other's eyes glistening in the moon like, 'horseplay' as the captain put it.

1st March 1940- the night quickly drew in and a layer of fog peacefully sat over the grounds of button house. The house was draped in darkness and silence, apart from one room that bleed an inviting yellow light and a warm laughter. They often stayed up past curfew, they enjoyed the few moments alone they got. Havers knew he was slipping further in love, as the captain sat there his shirt rolled half way up his strong arms, his top button undone and his tie draped on his masculine shoulders. He started to smile watching his second in command sort through his brain for the right words.
"Are you alright, lieutenant" he giggled
"Y...yes,yes" havers stuttered "I just.. well I.. I wondered if you would like to go down to the lake"
"Sure, it's been a while since we had some fun around here" he said winking, making his way out of the room and into the gloomy hallway. They both sighed once they got out into the fresh cold spring air.
"Race you!" The Captain said running off before William could get a word in. Havers soon caught up bringing his CO to the ground. Their elevated heartbeats, heavy breathing and laughing filled the void of silence. Both men stared at the enchanting specks that lay in the heavens.
"Oh, make a wish" William says pointing at the shooting star that flew above their heads. Both laughed and wished in their heads, but the pair unknowingly wished for the same thing. The same thing, which was already true, 'for him to love me back.' There heads fell to look at each other, fixated on each others eyes that were glistening against the moonlight. Falling deeper and deeper in love.
"Well.. urm.. we should uh.. probably um head inside," Captain coughed repressing any feelings he was told was wrong.
"Yes, yes that's probably for the best, it's getting quite cold out here." Havers uttered looking at the captain. Although cap was smiling it was tainted with a somber feeling, he wanted to wrap havers up in his arms. To keep him warm and safe.
