I hold Tyson's hand as we walk down the train cars. I felt safer walking with him while holding his hand, just incase I bumped into Marcus and Atalia. He didnt seem to mind, his large hand gently around my small hand. We were heading back to the food car since my stomach had to growl in dead silence.
"Did you eat breakfast?" Tyson asked, looking down at me with kind blue eyes.
My stomach growls at the thought of food. I didnt eat breakfast now that I think of it.
"No." I say, as he opens the train door with a single hand and movement, letting me go in first. I step in looking at the food. Just food. A girls paradise. I look back reaching my hand back to him, him grabbing it once more. He takes me over to a table of muffins. There was corn, blueberry, chocolate, chocolate chip and so many other flavors to choose from. Of course, as a kid I choose the most fattening and tastiest. Chocolate.
I put my hands around the bottom of a chocolate muffin and pick it up. Holding it in one hand, I grab Tyson's hand once more with my free hand, him walking me over to a table. Smiling at him I sit down placing the muffin on the table.
He sits on the other side of me, a donut in his hand. This person... bring me to muffins and gets himself a donut. I love donuts! What nerve.
He looks at me sort of reading my expression.
"There was donuts?" I ask, looking at him.
"Last one." He smirked mischeviously. A flash of disappointment crossing my facd.
"Marcus and Atalia were being fata**'s and took them all."
I laugh at the comment turning my focus back on my muffin. I was happy with it. ITS CHOCOLATE!
I hear Tyson laugh, for no reason making me look up at him.
"What's so funny?" I ask narrowing my eyes playfully.
"Nothing. Youre just to damned adorable." He smiles.
I just keep my eyes narrowed trying to look serious. He just smiles at me, trying not to laugh.
"Stop smiling, Im being serious!" I say, looking him dead in the eye. He holds his hands up in response.
"Okay, okay I surrender." He says.
I smile finally defeating him. I was wrong.
Tyson quickly stands up, leaning over the table scooping me off my seat and over the table to his side. He then begins tickling me once more, making me squeal of laughter and kick my feet.
After almost a minute, he stops tickling me as I try to catch my breathe.
I narrow my eyes once more.
"Fine. You win." I say folding my arms as I get up and walk back over to my side of the table. He watches me, his eyes gleaming of humor.
Nope.. I win.
I think mischeviously, quickly grabbing his donut off the table, him looking at me with shock taking my muffin.
"okay." I shrug, biting into the donut as I sit back down.
He shrugs in response, biting into the muffin.
I honestly felt bas for taking his donut, but he didnt seem to mind. But, I break the donut in half, giving him the side I didnt bite. He nods breaking the muffin in half and giving me the half he didnt bite.
Silence hangs over us, as we eat our breakfast deserts. We were both already sharing food and we werent even in the games.. yet. But it will come faster than I know it.
Heaven knows where Marcus and Atalia were. Probably slobbering all over eachother in a train car. Heck, I didnt care where they were, as long as they werent here.
I finish both my halves, looking out the window watching trees pass by.
"Tyson?" I ask not looking at him.
His relection looks over at me.
"Hmm?"
"Do you think.." I begin, pausing.
"Do you think.. we can victor together?" I ask, looking over.
He finishes the last bite of his muffin, staying silent for a few seconds.
"It's a possibilty.. but I just want to get you home. Thats my main concern. Not me."
"But, Tyson. You dont even know me. Why would you have so much concern in someone you dont know? Im just a stranger."
He gently gets up taking my hand. He stands me up infront of him, kneeling down to my height. His gaze meeting mine.
"You are only a child. You have a life ahead of you. I faced these games once. I can do it again. You are in deep danger if you go out alone, and I won't let that happen." Tyson says gently, sliding a piece of hair out of my face.
"I'm not going to let you die." He says, standing back up and taking my hand.
"Come on let's get you to bed." He says walking me back toward my train car.
After a few minutes, I was lying in bed. Tyson, tucked me in, stroking my blonde hair.
"Tyson..?"
"hmm?"
"What will happen when I wake up?"
"We will be training and preparing for the games" He says, voice kind.
"Infront of other tributes?" I ask nervously.
He kneels down to me.
"Dont be nervous. Just focus." He says. "Dont think about the other tributes. Ill be right beside you to help you train. Just watch me, okay?"
I nod slowly, as he gets up with a nod.
"Goodnight." He smiles warmly, walking out of the traincar, leaving me alone to sleep.
That's if I could. I could hardly sleep due to nightmares, and that was before the reaping.
Now I was on the train.. that would make my nightmares true in just a matter of days.
