Skipping to the games because why the heck not?
******************************I am going to die. I am going to die. This is it. I'm officially 12 today, and my present is watching people die. My parents are going to watch their 12 year old die on TV. Maddie, say good bye. Today you were born and today you die. I always wondered how cool it'll be to die on the same day you were born. I kinda wanted that because it's rare to happen, but I did not want to die this early! I'm scared.. I don't want to die. Where is Tyson? Will he find me? Will I find him? Will I be one of the first ones killed in the bloodbath?
Then it hit me.. the bloodbath.
Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no!
I walk into a room seeing a tube that would lead me to my death. I don't say a word, my green eyes showing fear in them. I look over at my mentor who nods to me. I look away and turned toward the tube. I have to go in eventually.. Might as well get it over with. I take a breath before entering my tube, tears building my eyes. There was no turning back now.
The tube closes around me, and my heart beat picks up. I place my hands on the tube and turn around rapidly. There was no way out now. No way at all. My green gaze turns back over to my mentor who has a frown on his face."You will do good.. don't be scared. Fear will overpower you. Stay strong and have confidence and think before you do." He said, a few tears falling from my eyes. I nod a bit, before I feel something pushing me up,the tube. I look around side to side frantically and spin myself around.
No no no no no no no! This is it! The bloodbath! In just a few minutes I could die!
I take a breath again and remember what my mentor told me. See I'm already not thinking straight due to fear.
Have confidence.. have confidence.. dont be scared.
I am blinded by sudden sunlight, my eyes squinting trying to reduce the brightness that burned my eyeballs. My vision then focuses and gets used to the light, and my curiosity makes me scan around. Looking at the other 47 tributes, I look around for Tyson. When I spot him, he's already looking at me. Then the countdown begins.
Oh my gosh.. only a matter of seconds!
My gaze turns to the weapons in the cornucopia. So many tributes had their eyes on weapons. I look back over at Tyson would shakes his head at me, as if he's trying to tell me not to go into the cornucopia.
I need a weapon. Why wouldn't I?? I need to survive.. I need to defend myself.
Then he moved his head a but gesturing to go in the forest. I raise an eyebrow and just turn my gaze over to the clock.
10. 9. 8.7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. The horn goes off
I run toward the cornucopia and I'm instantly surrounded by tributes. Not even a second later and a Cannon sounded, starting off the deaths.
"MADDIE!" I hear Tyson yell in panic.
I quickly grab a set of throwing knives, and duck below a swing of a sword from another tribute.
I have to get out of here. I have to get to the forest!
Every few seconds a cannon went off. I suddenly feel a warm sticky substance on my face, a tributes blood dotting my face like chicken pocks. Another Cannon went off. All I see is blurs of tributes running, I see people dying, being stabbed, blood flying.
Now I understand why this is Called a bloodbath.
"MADDIE!"
My heart pounds and I crawl on all fours rather quickly. I crawled under and around tributes, everything just happening so fast. I get to my feet and begin running. I don't even watch tributes be killed and the attacking tributes. I just run blindly, through everyone, my knives grasped in my hand tightly. Breathing heavy, my heart sounds all if it's in my head. I can feel my own bloodflow nevermind hear it.
Tyson.. please find me.
I come up to the forest and run thought the trees. I hear running beside me from other tributes. I know for a fact they were not the footsteps of Tyson. More cannons were sounding out but more spaced out now. They were one after another. They were a good maybe 2 - 3 minutes apart. I don't stop running though. I run zig zag around trees and pushing myself around branches, leaves and tall grass. Hopping over rocks, logs, and tree roots.
Once the cannons start dying down, I slow my pace the only thing being heard is the sound of nature. Birds, twigs and leaves cracking beneath my feet. I couldn't hear any other tributes. We ran in all different directions like a bunch of rats being caught in the light. Now all we had to hope was not be seen or found.I'm in the games.. this is it. It officially started. I survived the bloodbath.. now I have to remember. No fear.. think before I do. I can win this..
About to yell out for Tyson, I dont, thinking before I do.
If I yell.. ill attract tributes.
Taking small, quiet, quick breaths, I walk slowly looking for any place to settle at. I hoped to bump into Tyson along the way. But it doesn't look good.
*crack*
My heart instantly skipped a beat and I stop in my tracks and scan around.
Trees.. more trees..
I don't know where that crack came from. It was not from me.
*crack*
Tears form in my eyes and I look around. Someone is here.
Stay silent.. stay silent..
But I realize I do something but that. Before I even know it, I'm running, and I hear someone running behind me.
Oh no what have I done!?!? I attracted that tribute!
My little feet don't get me far, and the tribute grabs the back of my shirt pulling me toward them. I am pressed against their chest, their arm around my forhead, arching my neck back.
I take deep breaths in fear, tears falling from my eyes as a blade of a knife touches my neck."TYSON! TYSON!!!!" I scream, kicking my feet. My head is jerked back more until my screams turn to gags. The blade is put on my now extended neck.
"Told you you wouldn't last long.."
