Whiskey POV
I had spent the past two days in the kitchen working on wedding cake ideas and coming to terms with reality. Tiger may be my friend, but I needed space from her. So once she tastes the cakes, I'll leave for a few days, getting the space I desperately need.
"Hey Tiger, I have some cake flavors for you to try," I said and everyone's head snapped in my direction. Tiger and some brothers got up off of the couch making their way into the kitchen. If there's one thing my fellow Riders are good for, its taste testing my desserts.
"There are a few different flavors, but the only opinion I care about is Tiger's. This is for her wedding, so guys shut the fuck up and keep your opinions to yourself," I said, sternly pointing at them. The brothers chuckled, but knew I meant business.
I went over the different flavors before everyone dug in: red velvet, chocolate brown sugar, coconut, lemon-raspberry, coffee cake, and an apple spice cake. As Tiger ate, I tried to gauge which she liked more than others, but she seemed to have liked them all. The brothers, however, were not shy about voicing their opinions.
Ace walked in as Tiger tried the last of the flavors. With her mouth full of cake, he kissed her and pulled her onto his lap. She fed him each of the flavors, but everyone knew as long as Kaitlyn was happy nothing else mattered.
"Whiskey, these are amazing. I don't know if I can decide!" she exclaimed.
"You don't have to choose right now. I have a few more ideas, but I'm glad you liked them, Princess."
A silent exchange between Ace and Tiger had me worried. He nodded before landing a gentle kiss on her forehead and Kaitlyn leaned forward on the counter, as if to let me in on a secret. "So, we thought instead of a cake you could do cupcakes, and one small cheesecake and cake for the two of us. Think you could do that or is it too much?" she asked.
Nothing for you is ever too much, Princess.
"You tell me when and where and I'll make it happen, Princess," I assured.
"Thanks, Whiskey," she whispered. Everyone piled cakes onto their plates and headed back to the living room to finish their movie.
After cleaning the kitchen, I headed to Killer's office, knocking before Killer told me to enter. "What can I do for you Whiskey?" he asked.
"I want to head out to my cabin for a few days if that's alright. I just need some space," I huffed out, not thrilled at leaving, but knowing it's the best choice.
"Does this have anything to do with Ace and my sister getting married? Everyone knows, except her, how you feel, and I can see you're hurting, but she's happy. So, if you need time, then go take it." Killer stated. He sees me struggling and knows why I need to heal and move on.
Grabbing my go-bag from my room, I double-checked my room, which was in pristine condition, and headed out. My cabin is in the heart of Washington, surrounded by trees and secluded, which is exactly why I bought it. The drive was peaceful, just me, my bike, the road beneath me, and trees surrounding me.
I purchased the cabin a year after joining the Riders, knowing I would need a safe place to escape to. A place where I don't have to worry about my brothers or the job, and just be in the present.
Opening the door, the cabin was clean, organized, and nothing out of place. Exactly as I left it. After unpacking my small bag, I started a fire, opened a beer, and ruminated in my thoughts.
The cold beer went down quickly as my thoughts turned to my life. My work with the Riders means something. I'm the person they depend on in the field and under pressures, which is where I excel. My military training serves my brothers well and where my skills are of good use, doing good for others.
