Part Five

Everyone at the compound was very much preoccupied with what had happened with Angelica. Bucky was in his room. Tony is in the kitchen eating. Steve outside recalling the past. 'Steve...I'm scared...what if he doesn't approve..' He pulled her into a hug. 'He will...I'm his best friend...it's not like we meant for this to happen..' She looked up at him scared. 'I just don't want to ruin anything...but I love you' He didn't get the chance to say it as Bucky came back. Letting her go he stepped away. Looking back he wished he could have done things differently. He didn't have the heart to face her. "Penny for your thoughts.." It was Nat. "Just thinking about stuff.." He said sitting on a nearby bench. She raised an eyebrow. "Stuff or someone?" Standing in front of him. "Angelica...we were..." The look on his face made Nat sit next to him. "Where what...Steve, I've never seen you like this." Placing a hand on his shoulder. "...I loved her..." He paused. "I always have...." He glanced back, a tear had fallen down his face. "When I heard she was alive...I was so excited...then Fury said I couldn't see or talk...well now I get why.." She didn't know what to say for a bit. "I'm sure Tony, Banner, and Shuri can fix her...did Bucky know" Steve just shook his head. "She was abducted that same day she said I love you...for the first...and last time" he hung his head.

A small drone was high in the sky. "That is where she is...we are to retrieve what was taken from us." The man spoke as he gave orders. "Shield has tampered with Subject 005, she is to be unharmed and stunned as soon as possible. She cannot take another day. We need this clip to be played, so she can reset." The drone flew off. Now that they had some ideas. They could plan their assault. They would need time and power. Days had passed. It was decided that Angelica remained locked up. Buck was too mad and spent his days training. Tony had called everyone over. They were sitting around in the living room. " I think it's safe to assume she is too unstable to take to the lab. So me and Banner will run tests there with Thor's help." He looked at Tony. "Why me?" Banner explained. "You have the most knowledge about the tesseract. You also can stun her if she is triggered." Thor nodded. "Fine.." Shuri was pouting. "Shuri is also not allowed in as much as we need her." She left. "I noticed she gave her a reaction.." Banner Explained. They stayed silent. "What we need to know is how did it feel Clint...Being possessed that time by Loki" He sat up and thought. "It was like watching someone else walk, talk, and act like you. Someone else had pushed me aside...I couldn't get back, no matter what I did." They all listened to him explain. "That is how I felt too...but I was able to fight back some. then I felt normal after Tony knocked me out." Bucky spoke up.

After the meeting, Tony and Nat watched Angelica. She sat on her bed drawing now. They had given her some things to preoccupy her. "Hey, Tony...when can I see my family..." Angelica asked. How did she know they were watching, he thought. Since the incident, she has been asking. "You know the answer...never. They didn't exist. There was no Allan or Nicole West.." Angelica froze for a brief moment before going back to her drawing. "Stop lying...." They watched as it seemed she was struggling within herself. "I...have parents....no...they died years ago stupid...Bucky is alive...Steve..my Steve, I've seen him." It was like watching a robot malfunction. "It always ends the same way.." Nat sighed as Angelica passed out...again. "Bring in Steve...I'm telling you. Then maybe we can talk to the other her. " Tony just shook his head. "Too Dangerous."

They had given her some items to keep her busy. A TV sat in her room, sometimes she would watch a show, sometimes she would just stare at the static. Angelica would stand in front of a mirror and talk to herself. Scream and fight then of course, pass out.  Since she arrived the only people she got to talk to or see were Tony and Banner for tests. Thor would just stand there observing her. "....." She didn't protest or give any lip. "Please let me see my parents.." She would plead. She would wake up hours later with new things to do. "Why is this happening.." She clung to herself and stared out her window. "I miss going outside...I miss the stench of the subways even.." Every time she woke up it was from the same damn nightmare. She had drawn out both their faces. Scattered all over the floor. "Today they came in to do more menial tests...again the blond one Thor...only stared. Again..." Closing her journal. "How long have I been in here I wonder..." 'Angel.....oh Angel' a voice whispered. She sat up and looked around. It seemed to be coming from the bathroom. 'There you are..so we finally meet' In the mirror was a dark bloodstained Angel. ''Who are you!'' She freaked out, closing her eyes. 'It won't work...your mind is cracking...I can finally talk to you. I have been trying to reach you..' 

Angelica stood there frozen. She knew something was off. Memories and things she had never done kept creeping up. She would shout out things that made no sense. Countless hours just yelling at the mirror. Never once did she hear voices. "Your not real! Go away!" shutting her eyes tightly hoping that the figure would vanish. opening them the person still stood, staring with that look. 'Oh hunny that would work. All those visions and things you saw, were me. Trying to force my way out. It's all very real I'm afraid.' she fell to the floor and scurried up against the wall. The blood-covered version of her just walked forward and out of the mirror. kneeling she had a twisted smile. 'What is it? Do you remember now? We are not so innocent you know. The fantasy you live in isn't real. It's what Shield gave us. A false Identity. So we wouldn't be able to run off and find our brother.' Angelica's eyes went wide. "Bucky...that's right. I have a brother...NO that isn't true! I am an only child! LIAR GO AWAY!" She screamed and the horrifying image dissipated. 

Tony had happened to be watching the whole ordeal. "Well, that is certainly new..." He had enough and called Steve. "Hey, I am going to need you to come in. We aren't getting anywhere with Angelica and could use your help."
