Winter Soldier's Sister

Part Eleven

     Tony had found Stephen and filled him in. Peter came along. "Tony just told me. How are you handling it all?" Bucky was sitting in the farthest seat. He was glaring. "How do you think I'm feeling?" Tony touched Peter's shoulder and he went to sit. "He was just trying to be nice, Barnes." Bucky just looked away pissed off. All this time Bucky never knew his sister was alive, now she was close by, he couldn't even see or talk to her not even if he changed his voice. "I just want to see my sister. When can I do that." Stephen sat down and looked at Tony, Pretending to care was always the fun part. Stephen gave his best sad look and spoke.  "I'm not sure till after they are done with the procedure. We will have to take it very slowly. Can you wait just a little bit more?" Peter was slouched staring at his phone, a photo of him and MJ shown on his screen. It was taken before Mysterio revealed his identity, making him lose her forever. Bucky nodded and looked at Peter, "Look kid I'm sorry okay? I know how you feel, I forget you just lost your friend and MJ." Peter smiled sadly. "It is okay Mr Barnes, at least your sister is back. I'm sure you can see her one day." Tony sat next to Bucky, he didn't know how it felt to see someone again. They were going to do their best to undo what Hydra and Fury did to her. Stephen sat there and listened to everyone talk. He wanted to smirk and do it right there and then, but he had to wait.

    They couldn't undo it, they'd lose their strongest ally. Val made it very clear that she wants her as is. Peter and Bucky were talking, Tony went to go start the procedure, it was the perfect time.  "I'm surprised Rogers isn't here." Bucky looked at Stephen, " he said he had something to do. Then he'd come over." Peter chimed in. "I'm sure he will be here soon enough." Bucky looked at his phone, that conversation was over four hours ago, he should have been here by now. Stephen looked down at his, a message shown. He withheld his smile and stood up excusing himself. "I'll be back, they need me at the sanctum." He left the room found an empty hallway and used his portal. it was not the sanctum but Angel's room. She had a smile and a look of relief. "I thought it was all talk, glad to see you kept your promise." Stephen smirked and stood close to her. he lifted her chin, "Val is most eager to meet you, Mist. make no doubt about that." Angel, no, Mist smiled. 

Angel always sat in the corner of her mind, defeated and useless. Posing as her had been annoying to Mist who now controlled her body and mind. Mist had then also pretended to be the fake persona Angelica. She shivered in annoyance. "She can help me get rid of Angel? forever?" Stephen smirked and walked past her, he opened a portal. On the other side awaited Val. "That she can. She can make it so it's been you all along that has been the dominant persona. Angel will cease to exist. Forever." he extended his hand and Mist took it. "I can't wait to meet her." As soon as they walked through, the portal vanished, and just in time too. Tony and Bruce opened the door. they looked at one another. "where the hell did she go?" Tony spoke out as Bruce looked around and ran to the security cameras.

The alarms went off in the compound. Peter and Bucky looked at one another. Tony opened the door and looked a bit panicked. "Where's Strange?" Bucky stood and walked towards him, "He said that he was needed at the Santcum or whatever. Why? What's going on Tony?" Tony walked up to Bucky he didn't know how to tell him. "You may want to sit down Barnes." Peter saw Tony's face and made his way. "It's Mr Strange isn't it?" Tony looked at him. "How did you know Parker?" Peter stood behind Bucky and spoke with a worried tone. "Something about him has seen off. I didn't know what, but now it all makes sense." Bucky looked back at him, how did he know? Then again he did have what he called spidey senses. "It's not just him that worries me, sorry Mr Barnes but Mr Rogers also seemed kind of off lately..." Tony and Bucky exchanged glances. "We looked at the cameras leading up to her vanishing. It showed Stephen opening a portal and walking through was.." Tony spoke but Peter finished his thought. "... You saw Mr Rogers didn't you Mr Stark." Tony nodded. Bucky was at a loss, how could they break her out? What were they thinking? "I don't get it, why would they break her out? She's my sister, she could hurt someone, everyone." Tony stood up and walked to the door, Peter followed. Bucky didn't know what to do. "I will find out what the hell is going on here.  Till then this does not leave the room, understood?" Peter and Bucky both agreed, all that anyone knew was that Mist or Angel escaped and was at large. Not even Bruce could know. It was safer that way. 

    The portal opened and there stood Val, finally meeting the notorious Mist who toppled governments with a simple glance. "Finally, after all this time. I'm shocked you're here and not over there. What made you break cover early I wonder." The person next to her looked at Val and walked through the portal. He extended his hand and Mist took it, Stephen shook his head and laughed as he dropped his hand. Mist walked through and there stood Madam Hydra, or as everyone knows her, Val. "Steve, I was wondering where you ran off to. So, you're Val." Steve didn't let her hand go. She stood next to him closely. Val smiled and shook Mist's hand. "I am, you're reputation is quite the read. I only hope that we can do better, Hydra isn't what you think it is. I've had time to revamp it as I stayed incognito." Stephen took his place next to Val, finally the next piece of her plan was here. Mist looked around, she was impressed. "Nice office, we shall see if things are different. I'm not pledging my allegiance to anyone just yet. But I am thankful for the breakout. That helps." Val walked to her desk and hit a button then sat down. "I'm sure you'll come to love it here. My assistant, she's the one who helps everyone. even Stephen and Steve here." Mist touched Steve's chest and smiled, laying her head on his chest. "I can see that, last time we met he was hell-bent on saving me. I don't know Stephen well enough but I'm sure he was a do-gooder at one point yes?" Val nodded and laughed. "Yes, they both were on the heroes side, till my assistant found me. Just then the door opened and in walked a girl with white pigtails and a child-like resemblance. "You must be Mist, I've been waiting for you for a long time now. I see Steve has found you, I saved him for you, I hope you're happy." Mist walked away from Steve and stood before the child, "I am, nice to meet you, sorry what do they call you?" Kobik extended her hand and smiled. "You can call me Kobik. I can't wait to help you too." Mist shook her hand, "Well Kobik thank you for saving Steve for me, ill be even happier when my brother is also saved. And I don't mean Bucky, that do-gooder makes me sick. Yes, I know about all his adventures, I kept tabs on him when I managed to emerge from the fake persona Fury gave me." Val couldn't help but smile, finally she had one more piece. "And we will save Bucky and make him see the light as well. isn't that right Kobik?" She nodded and happily walked next to Val. "Yes, we will save Winter Soldier Mist, don't you worry. Now shall we help you?"
