Meerkat Manor: Snow's Story

First Litter

So during the start of the winter season. Snow had been kicked out of the family with a couple of other females. As Flower saw her as a threat to her future pups. She survived for fifteen weeks traveling the desert. Thanks to meeting a rover called JD several weeks after her eviction. Most females would not survive without their family. But JD showed her how to survive.

They could of started their own family. But Snow missed her family and after her first miscarriage with their pups. When she got pregnant for a second time. She decided it was best to return to her family in hopes of giving her pups the best future possible.

Flower happily welcomed her sister back as she had recently had pups who needed baby sitting. Snow was her most experienced baby sitter. Happy to be home, Snow forgot about her time with JD. Who had returned to his family the Gattaca.

(September 27, 2004)

Snow is Flower's younger sister. She was born in September 2000 and is five months younger then Flower. She is Flower's last relative from the day of their mother Holly's rein. Snow has managed to stay in the Whiskers while the rest of her sisters have been evicted. Well not entirely, she had been evicted and returned.

But Flower may soon come to regret the decision of letting her return. Because she, Tosca and Mozart have given birth to pups. She and Mozart had three each. While Tosca only had two. With eight extra mouths to feed, things will be hard for the Whiskers. Unlike Mozart and Tosca, who fell for the charms of the same rover. Snow fell for the charms of JD of the Gattaca mob. An old rival of the Whiskers. Who pose little threat considering their small size and distance from the Whiskers territory unlike the Lazuli.

Anyway the problem with Snow having pups is though that Flower had her own litter of four pups nearly four weeks ago. Just before she returned. They had recently started to explore above ground. Flower could easily kill Snow, Mozart and Tosca's first litter of pups. And evict them all. This is Snow's first successful litter and she prays her older sister will let them live. Especially after their run in with the Lazuli a few days ago and with Shakespeare recovering from a snake bite.

Snow comes above ground to see Mozart, Tosca and today's babysitters. Which means the rest of the group had already left to go foraging for food. Her and her two nieces now have a tough decision to make. Do they go hunting and try to catch up with the others. Or stay at the burrow with the babysitters. Who are currently looking after Flower's four pups; Hawkeye, Logan, Cruise and Mitch.

In the end all three decide they need to forage. To replace the energy they lost the night before from giving birth. It doesn't take them long to find the foraging party and start to forage themselves. Not noticing Flower slip away from the party heading back to the burrow. The babysitters don't stop her from going below ground. If she decides to kill the newborn pups, they will do nothing to stop her.

Meanwhile with the rest of the group Snow has found a small lizard. And was enjoying it behind some bushes out of view of her family. Once she finished it, she went off in search of more food. When she had had her fill around midday she decides to head back to the burrow to check on her newborn pups and give them a fed.

As she headed back, she missed Flower leaving the burrow. She arrived and ignored the baby sitters and headed below ground. After a searching several tunnels. She finds her pups with Tosca and Mozart's pups. She feeds her own first. Before being a doting great aunt and giving the other pups a fed. She then decides to stay at the burrow and help the baby sitters.

As she was on sentry duty at sun set the rest of the family return. Flower greeted her own pups and fed them. Before they all called it a night.

Snow had a good night taking care of her pups. While Tosca and Mozart took care of theirs. Right now she is out with the forging party looking for food. She nicks a half eaten millipede. That Zaphod had stolen from Yossarian and left for a teenager. Not knowing the danger her pups and that of her two nieces litters are in because of Yossarian.
