Sly put his shoulder over Luminous bringing her so uncomfortably close to his slender frame that she could smell the sweat on him. She tried to hit him, push him, twitch her muscles, however....

"Vainglorious, Dawn. I can't move."

Even as she said it, Luminous felt her jaw was also stiff and hard for her to move.

"Of course, you can't move. This is what I was trying to warn you about." Said the Dawn of Fate. "And you gave yourself right to him! What did I tell you about dark spells? Dark spells are about control!"

Sly smirked, twirling Luminous' shoulder-length blonde hair between his sharp fingernails. Vainglorious stared at the invisible strings going through Luminous' body that twined around Sly's hand like a puppet master with a puppet's strings.

"I can see through your heart a young witch boy. I can tell that you're beginning to thaw, your feelings beginning to waver. But will you allow yourself to sink with them or harden back up like winter's snow?"

"Let's make a deal halfling." Said Vainglorious holding his gloved hand out. "If you release Luminous I'll help you get other people's hearts instead. Anyone you want."

"Anyone? Anyone?" Asked Sly his white fox ears perking up.

"Yes." Responded Vainglorious.

"What if I asked you to bring me a girl?"

"Sure." Responded Vainglorious without hesitating.

"What if she were three years old? What if she wore the cutest little pigtails."

"Yes."

"What if she did no wrong and loved her parents and her family more than anything in the world?"

"Yes! I said ''anyone you want! You stupid fox!" Vainglorious yelled. "I would tear down the whole kingdom and bring you all their hearts!" Vainglorious bit his lip as soon as he said it.

The first thing his parents taught him in life was that if you were going to bargain. You didn't want the other person to know just how much you wanted it....it even surprised him how much he wanted it... uh oh...

"Wow, you really do love Luminous don't you?" Sly smirked, his pink eyes narrowing on his prey.

Vainglorious' hand shrunk back. His gray eyes shifted to the floor.

"I wouldn't say that. She's just been...more of a useful tool..."

Who was he trying to convince Sly or himself?

"You're a smart boy Vassy, you know how this spell works. Till death do us part, means death after all." Said Sly spinning his umbrella around. "Although, now that I think about it. Maybe I'll have dear Luminous here kill you after all. It would be funny to watch you squirm around between deciding to save her or save yourself. Like how Janus squirms under my boots."

Sly flexed his fingers and Luminous rushed towards Vainglorious sword drawn.

"Vainglorious!"

Luminous, not able to move a muscle on her own, lifted up her sword and swung it.

Vainglorious' eyes widened before dodging Luminous. The Dawn of Fate hit the mirror on the floor, splintering it into pieces. Vainglorious took the opportunity to run down the corridor of mirrors.

"Ha hahaha! Run little vassy, run!" Sly laughed. "You better go after him, my dear." Sly made a motion with his finger.

The strings around Luminous' legs went taut. She walked across the broken shards of glass with only her socks on. She bit her lip in pain which only made Sly laugh more.

Vainglorious ran down the corridor of mirrors trying to think of a plan. But he could feel Sly's creepy animal-like eyes watching him through the mirrors.

He bumped into what felt like every mirror in the funhouse. His wavy white hair disheveled and navy blue trench coat slipped down his right shoulder. His wild gray eyes looked at the disorienting hallway of mirrors.

"Ahhh! Where am I!"

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone move towards him.

"Too much heartbreak so you put up a wall, not even summer will make the ice thaw!"

Vainglorious summoned his ice shield. The Dawn of Fate hit it with so much force that Vainglorious' knees buckled under him.

"Blocking and dodging? For an ice wizard, you sure are on fire."Said the Dawn of Fate.

"Now's not the time stupid sword!" Huffed Vainglorious.

"Dawn, how do I stop attacking Vainglorious?" Panicked Luminous hitting Vainglorious' shield as hard as she could.

"Uh, hope Sly gets bored and releases you. Or you can hope that either him or snobs here kill you first."

"That's not funny Dawn, I'm in real trouble, again.."

"Sorry short stuff but you put yourself in a pickle here."

Luminous brought the Dawn of Fate down on Vainglorious' shield, shattering the ice into shards. Vainglorious swept his boot under Luminous' legs, knocking her over. That's when he saw that she had fresh blood on the bottom of her feet, and noticed that she left a trail of bloody footprints where she came in from.

Vainglorious ran in the opposite direction. But it wasn't long until he hit another corner. Luminous lifted up her blade and shouted.

"Blade synchronization!"

The Dawn of Fate expanded to be five times its size. Vainglorious ducked as the huge blade slash the mirrors. Shards of glass fall to the floor.

Vainglorious continued running, looking back at the bloody footprints she left behind, as Luminous continued to slash at mirrors. He made sure to note down where all the bloody footprints were and where they weren't yet. It only got easier with the slashed mirrors to figure out where he's been.

Vainglorious finally ran until he saw purple curtains fluttering in the wind. Gray clouds and mist coming from the ocean below the boardwalk leaked through the mirrors sounding him.

Sly must have noticed this because Luminous ran right towards Vainglorious. Quicker than non-possessed Luminous possibly could have.

Vainglorious fled the room off mirrors. Pushing through the curtains. The sea breeze hit his Stoney pale face.

Luminous' sword inching towards his scrawny neck.
