Luminous’ eyes popped open after reanimating from death.

"I did it." Vainglorious, smiled. "Luminous are you-"

Luminous lifted the Dawn of Fate up to the roof.

"Uh, snobs." Said the Dawn of Fate. "Something isn't right."

Luminous brought the Dawn of Fate down. Sweeping all the corruption around her. Narrowly missing Vainglorious by the scrap of his cheek.

Vainglorious backed up towards the back room of the little bridal shop. Starting into Luminous' eyes. Her pupils have been whited out.

“Luminous?”

Vainglorious held his breath. Luminous stepped closer. She was right in front of him lifting her sword up.

A monotonous voice echoed in Luminous' head.

"Live your life for you."

Luminous blinked a few times. The light in her blue eyes came back. She backed up, dropping the Dawn of Fate before kneeling to the ground.

“Vainglorious, Dawn." Luminous breathed. "I’m sooo tired….” She whined.

Vainglorious got a good look at where he had thrown his spear into Luminous and saw that it left no scars. The wound had completely vanished. The only evidence that he had run her through at all was a small hole in her clothes in her chest area…

"Hey, Vainglorious…”

"I wasn't looking at anything!”

Vainglorious yelped while sitting up. His pale face turned cherry.

“What’s your friendship ring doing on my finger?”

"Uhh, it is…” Vainglorious averted his eyes, his hand scratching the back of his head.

How was he supposed to explain this one? Sorry Luminous, your life will never be the same again. Your life will be linked to mine no matter what you do. I hope you're cool with that.

I mean, I did save her life. Though Vainglorious. She would be dead otherwise. There was no other way.

“But Vainglorious I gave this friendship ring to you.” Luminous began sliding the wooden ring off of her finger.

Vainglorious eyes widened. Luminous was sharing his life force through their rings. That meant if she took it off she would die. He jumped up clasping his hands around Luminous’.

Luminous stared back at his sweaty face and wild eyes. Her brows knitted and her head crooked.

"You have a ring, like mine?”

Vainglorious stared down at his hand that clasped around Luminous’. His wooden ring sitting plainly on his finger.

"Ya, it's... our friendship ring." He said. "It's important to me. You have to promise me that you'll keep it on forever!"

Vainglorious bit his lip, his eyes staring unblinkingly at Luminous. A small tear came down Luminous’ cheek.

"I didn't know our friendship meant so much to you Vainglorious." She smiled, hugging Vainglorious.

Her arms squeezed so tightly around his scrawny frame. That if Luminous was actually strong she would have crushed him.

"Luminous!" Vainglorious blushed. "Get off of-"

Vainglorious' eyes landed on the Dawn of Fate. The sword kept weirdly silent this whole time. But Vainglorious felt that if a sword had eyes, the Dawn of Fate would be staring at him.
