Megan and Matthew have been living in their Glasgow apartment for a little over three years. They hadn't any plans to move somewhere else anytime soon but things can change quickly. The flat is perfect for them and their newly adopted dog. They still have the guest room ready for whenever Louis and Lily stay the night, which they do regularly. They still love their jobs and just celebrated Matthew's 27tj birthday. Megan turned 25 half a year ago already.
The have always been open about wanting kids at some point in their lives but they didn't expect their family to change mere months after deciding they're ready for a baby. Megan took a test because she'd been feeling unwell for a few days and it turned out positive.
They sat on their sofa, looking at the positive test, neither of them able to believe that Megan got pregnant that soon. Although with how often they dive in between their sheets, it's no surprise. There's a reason why their bed started creaking within half a year of having it. and the years living here didn't slow them down even a bit.
"We're having a baby!"
"I know! I'm going to get fat."
"No you won't, baby. You are beautiful and I will love you and our baby for the rest of my life."
"We're going to need to move."
"We will figure everything out honey. There's still plenty of time. We'll go through everything. Now I just want to be here with you and get excited over the idea that you have our little baby in your belly."
Megan places her hands on her belly, slowly starting to grasp the fact that over the next nine months, a little human will be growing inside of her.

"Babe!!"
"Is it happening?"
"Well, I don't know. My whole body is hurting as if someone is poking knifes into me and I don't know what else? Oh yeah, I'm 41 weeks pregnant!"
"I would tell you to calm down and breathe slowly but I guess that won't help, will it?"
"What do you think, smart ass. Get all of our stuff and get me to the hospital, I'm not having this baby anywhere other than there."
"On it."
Matthew helps her into the car and quickly throws all of their bags into the back before racing to the nearest hospital. Megan was ready to have this baby over a week ago, but the baby was perfectly happy where it was and decided to stay a bit longer.
Matthew wish he could take her pain, but all he can do is let her squeeze his hand and tell her how amazing she is.
Megan can be lucky with her quick labour. She heard stories that first time mums often have a long labour, but hers was only two hours in total.
"It's a boy!"
Megan is crying just as much as the baby when the put him an her chest. Matthew looks at his girl and their baby boy, now knowing what true happiness feels like. He has tears in his eyes looking at the two of them. It only gets worse when the nurse puts the baby in his arms after taking care of him.
Just like he was holding his siblings a few years ago, he is now holding his own son.
"We still have to decide on a name."
The couple made a list of some boy and girl names beforehand. They didn't know the sex of the baby so they needed to have two lists, and they didn't want to decide on one name for each before meeting their baby. They already agreed on using David as a middle name for a boy, or Emma for a girl, named after Matthew's parents.
"I think Ethan suits him."
"Ethan David Elliott. I like it."
"Hi Ethan, mummy and daddy love you so much."
They sit there on the hospital bed with the three of them. And at that point life is everything they wished for. They found an amazing home for their little family, they love their dog, and now they have a new-born baby.
An hour or so later, Matthew's family enters the room. The room is immediately full with four more people in there. Everyone adores Ethan straight away. And David is touched to have his first grandchild names after him. He may not be Matthew's biological dad, but he is the only true father figure Matthew ever knew, and even though Matthew still calls him by his first name out of habit most of the time, they really are like a father and son.

"Why didn't we stop after one?"
"Because four seemed like a good idea back then. And we have way too much fun making them"
"That second part is definitely true. I cannot wait till we're ready to get on it again."
"You think we'll find time for that with four kids?"
"You know I can be quick. And after all these weeks, I promise you, quick I will be."
"Well, I'm still going to talk to my doctor first. Four is plenty for me, so I want to make sure you don't knock me up again."
Matthew isn't too happy about having to wait, but with four kids running around, well actually, their youngest will need a year and a half more before he can run. But that doesn't make him any less busy. And don't forget, he has to go back to the office in a week already.
He holds Megan as they look at their kids.
Ethan, who is eight by now. Kylie at five years old and Nora a year younger at four years old. Caden, their youngest is only a few weeks old.
Matthew cannot believe how blessed he is to have a beautiful family like he does. There's only one more thing to do and that is to officially make Megan his wife. When they found out they were pregnant with Ethan, they decided to get married at a time when their kids could be a part of the wedding. And because they knew they wanted more kids, they waited. Matthew never proposed to Megan, they both knew they would end up married.
Matthew bought a ring a few months ago. A thin ring with a small diamond, like he knows Megan would like it. In a few weeks, his parents will be watching the kids and he will take Megan out to dinner, just the two of them. After they will walk through the park close to their house and under the big oak, he will get down on one knee and propose to her. He has it all planned out, now he just needs to keep the ring hidden long enough and not tell anyone by accident.
