Theia Aurae Frost
Fishes are fucking awesome.
Allow me to elaborate.
1. They don't talk ergo, they can't irritate you.
2. They don't judge you. I think.
3. And, they look really pretty.
So, yes fishes are better than humans will ever be. At least to me.
It is currently my favourite time of the day. I stare into the wild little pond as the light from the rising sun paints the whole park a golden yellow, waking up the sleeping world with her warm embrace.
The pleasant early summer air carries the smell of the nearby Water Lillies as I breathe it in, blanketing my senses, and calming my overworking mind.
Just one more day.
I can hear the waking birds start to sing. That's my cue, pausing for a moment to listen to the blissful humming, I take off down the rocky path, jogging back home.
As I start to pick up pace, I think about how stressful and downright annoying the past four years have been. So many freak outs about utterly insignificant things. So many emotional breakdowns about what other people say. So many nights crying myself to sleep for who-knows-what reasons. One night of something worse.
That will end today, hopefully.
Just one more day that passes by in a blur and I am done.

Once I reach home, I head up to my room to get ready for the day.
Waking out of the shower with wet hair and a heavenly citrus smell, I quickly blow dry my hair pull it into a loose braid over my shoulder.
I walk out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around me and stand in front of my mirror.
I am Theia and I am the baddest bitch of them all.
I am perfect just the way I am.
I am a fucking goddess.
Daily affirmations is something I started halfway through eleventh grade. I read about it in a self-care blog once, and now, it has become the most important part of my mornings.
Going through my wardrobe, I pick out an oversized black graphic tee, baggy jeans, and black sneakers with doodles. I also put on my silver chain with a moon pendant. Finally, I decorate my fingers with a few silver and gold rings. Rings are fucking hot, argue with the wall. I keep my makeup simple with a winged eye and lip balm.
I walk out of my room the same time as my sister does, across the hall, looking like every other basic girl on the planet.
"I can't wait to be done with school, Tee."
"Neither can I, Ki."
"Ah!" My eight-year old little sister sighs as if the weight of the whole world is on her tiny back.
I laugh quietly as we walk into the kitchen.
Dad makes the best pancakes ever with goofy whipped cream faces on them. "Eat up, kiddos." He says as we sit on the stools tucked under the counter. My pancake has blueberry eyes and my sister's has strawberry ones. "Theia, you'll drop your sister on the way to school, yes?"
"Do I have to, dad? Really, she can probably fly over with her devil child wings. Hm?" I flick my sister's head.
"Be nice to your sister." My Mom says the same time my sister murmurs, "if anything I would be Satan." Okay.
