All I think about as I look through the milk cartons for their expirations dates is, what just happened?

I went for my morning jog, as I always do; ran into Theo, a boy whom I've literally never spoken to; held his arm as we walked through the beautiful park, the entire time; and jogged off.

So basically, what just happened?

My entire body is still buzzing from Theo clinging onto it.

He wasn't really leaning on me with all his weight, but dude's still heavy, all right?.

His hands were really muscly too.

The only thing that comforts me right now is knowing that he wouldn't have been able to notice me blushing, the entire time, over my brown skin.

I check out the milk and a box of chocolate chips, for the 'bake with me' video I'm planning to work on tomorrow, and head back home.

On my way back, I pull out my phone and open Instagram.

It's not like I'm stalking Theo. No, I'm merely being informed about the person I've been hanging out with all morning. Yeah.

His last post is over a couple months ago, a thread of pictures from the last day of school. He has a really nice smile.

Careful not to like his posts, I scroll down beginning my task of finding out just who this guy is.

After a couple posts, there's a picture of him in the school's hockey rink with the entire team, captioned, "My other family <3", with an excessive amount of emojis. I didn't know he played hockey.

I click on the comments and the guys I recognise from school all say that they're gonna miss the captain next year.

Captain, huh?

How did I not know this?

I knew Eli and Brandon played for the school team. I guess it makes sense that Theo was too. He certainly looks the part.

One thing I notice as I scroll through his feed is that there's no mention of a girlfriend. Hm.

Not that I care, of course.

Opening Safari, I type in my school's name and search for the hockey team. There's a shit ton of pictures from within the school rink during home games. Theo's the focus in almost every picture either scoring a goal or just looking really, really, handsome.

What's wrong with me?

There's a post on the school website with a picture of Theo in his uniform after a win, his hair falling on his brown eyes. Ooh.

I open it and read. Basically, it talks how proud the school is of him for being recruited by UBC with a full ride to play for their team. Seriously, how did I miss this dude. It checks out though, why he asked me about college, it was probably to brag.

I can feel the annoyance bubble inside me as I reach the front door. I close my phone and head in, fiddling with my ring.

~~~
It's two in the afternoon and I'm in the library sitting behind the counter hunched over my phone.
I am NOT looking up Theo again.
I'm lying.
See the thing is, he's this new character in my little world and I can't help but be intrigued by him. It probably wouldn't even matter when he goes off to uni nest week.
