I saw daylight. "Hang in there, were almost out!" I yelled. Maria was coughing and coughing. I was holding Maria's hand. I tripped over some wood and the stuff around us caught on fire. "There's no end to it!" I yell. We were laying on the ground. Looking around. "Is this the end." Maria says frowning. "No. It cant be." I said.
"Shadow. Just go. Go without me." Maria said.
"What? No. Why?" I ask.
"Because I'm already suffering. I thinks its best. If you don't move, we'd both be dead. Now hurry. Please... It's for the best." Maria says.
"No. No. Please no. Trust me I can find a way out!" I said with tears in my eyes. This has never happened before.
I nodded slowly. I guess... I guess.... I guess.... She was right. I let go of her hand. I got up. "Good bye." I said. Some of the tears went down my cheek. We both waved. I jumped over the fire and watched as the reflection of the fire in her eyes. Soon. She was gone. Dead, I suppose.
Soon, the fire fighters had finished the fire. Everything was burnt. We had found a new house in Florida. We unpacked. The frown on my face was still there. I collect the ashes before we left. It's in a plastic bag. We set up a funeral and dug Maria in the ground. It was done...
