"ᥫan I ask you something.. if you don't mind?" Silas asked hesitantly, breaking the comfortable silence in the car.
"Sure," I replied, giving him a small smile.
"W-What was your previous pregnancy like?" he asked, curiosity and gentleness lacing his voice.
My breath hitched. That was a very sore topic for me. I gulped and opened my mouth to say something, but closed it. I tried to form words, but nothing.
"Uh- I'm sorry I shouldn't have-" he started, looking at me for a brief second before turning back to the road, a guilty expression adorning his face.
"It's fine," I cut him off, giving him a small smile, before continuing as I looked outside the window, "I, uh, actually didn't know that I was pregnant at first. Once the bump started forming, that's when I instantly knew. I never knew what to do. S-Some of the g-girls helped me though. It was dangerous to be pregnant over there.. and unhealthy. I never got to go to any check ups or anything, but I did get lucky o-one time — or rather, I say, unlucky in an unlucky event. I w-was 6 months along, and sure my bump was showing all along, but no one cared, because he was gone for a business trip and random men used to.. do the stuff to me and not care. But this time, I was being beaten and r-raped again and when the doctors came to, uh, check up on me, they f-found out.. a-and next thing I know, I'm at the organ factory, where they run the organ trafficking ring.. a-nd.. I s-see my premature b-baby boy getting parts of h-his body plucked out and cut into pieces by h-him a-and-" I was full on sobbing at this point and I could see tears streaming down Silas' face as well, as he parked into an empty spot in the parking lot.
He wiped his tears and switched the car off, turning to me as he gently picked me up from my seat and set me down in his lap. I didn't look up at him, I just looked down at my lap, as silent tears streamed down my face, my body shaking.
"I-I'm so sorry Donna," he said, his voice cracking, as he lifted my chin to meet his soft gaze. "I-It's okay.. it's b-been 3 years now," I smiled softly, my cries slowing down.
"You got this. And I won't let anything happen to you okay. You deserve happiness and I'm gonna make sure that you get to live it," he said, wiping my tears, as he tenderly kissed my forehead, while I closed my eyes.
Soon after that moment, we got off and headed into my brothers' hospital building, walking to the maternity wing. I held Silas hand as we walked. Some people walking by gave us curious and weird looks, but got shut down by one deadly glare from Silas.
(a/n: heads up » i know nothing abt pregnancy, except the basics, not the very, very detailed processes and whatnot, so, if i get anything wrong, dont come at me. this is also fiction, so whatever shit is here, it's unreal shit and you can't say anything about it – well you can educate me and yeah, that's it. bye ;))
We soon reached the room which we were looking for and sat down on one of the uncomfortable hospital chairs, as we waited.
About 10 minutes later, a young, beautiful nurse, with a kind smile on her face, called for me, "Miss Armani."
My head snapped up to her direction. I wanted to return her smile, but right now, I really couldn't and I didn't bother giving a fake smile either just to pretend everything's okay. Because it's not. I looked up at Silas, who gave me a comforting smile in return, as he tugged on my hand, gently pulling me into the room, as we sat on the two chairs opposite her table.
"I'm Dr. Pérez, but you can call me Deifillia. Okay, so, talk to me," she said giving me a comforting smile.
"Uhm.. I-I'm pregnant. I took two tests.. and I just want to confirm and get further information on w-what to do," I said, giving her a small smile.
