ariel grady, adopted along with her brother by the raptor king himself. experimented on by a lab when she was young, also trying to bring back the dinos...
"i'll probably only be there to translate and if something goes wrong cody and i will both be ordered to come back either here or two where a safe point is located." the two looked at each other before i climbed out of the seat. "want to see the raptors?" i asked.
i waited for both of them to get out before walking to the smaller paddock. "hey, smile more, grady," one of the ingen officers shouted, i stopped in my tracks. "maybe dress nicer too."
i smiled and walked towards them. "sorry! my prada's at the cleaners, along with my hoodie and my fuck you flip flops! you pretentious, stupid, sexist, douchebag!" i yelled out. "wow, geez women are so emotional."
"oh! i'm so emotional sorry, maybe if you actually do your job instead of catcalling a minor then maybe people wouldn't get so emotional!" i yelled in his face before grabbing ahold of his gun and hitting him with the butt of the gun, making him fall to the floor. the guys next to him laughed. "bro did you not see her earlier, she made those raptors look like dogs!"
i threw the gun at him and walked off. "ugh, i hate people sometimes," i breathed out in anger. zach was holding out his hand for me and i took it before standing next to him. "owen," grey said, making his way up to the cage.
he turned around to be faced with us three. cody joined us shortly after. "are they safe?" grey asked him. cody tapped me on the shoulder before pulling me away. "what happened over there?" he asked.
"nothing, just sexual harassment," i started. "i sorted it out, probably has a broken nose now but i put him in his place." cody let out a deep sigh. "i'll have a talk to hoskins," he said, before i could say anything he walked off.
as much as i hated making a bigger deal, i didn't actually care because cody would. anyways, i headed back over. "well, you got charlie. there's echo. here's delta and this one's called blue, she's the beta," owen explained.
i watched the two look at each other. "whos the alpha?" grey asked. "you're looking at him kid," owen said before looking at me. "although echos, her beta," he added, ruffling my hair. i placed my head on zachs shoulder as owen continued to talk about the velociraptors.
i started up my bike after he finished. while claire was talking to the boys and i looked over and debated in my head on whether i should just give them a hug goodbye just in case. i gave in and walked over.
grey noticed me first and ran over and hugged me. "don't die, i want my favourite guide to be living," he said, i laughed and hugged him back. "i won't die, most likely but i will come back, if things go south. grey looked up and nodded before letting go and climbing into the ambulance.
"goodbye, i guess," i spoke. "no, no. this isn't goodbye... this is see you later. you're not going to die," zach suggested. "i like that, it sounds better," i responded, opening my arms for a hug.
"don't die either, somehow," i said to him. he nodded and placed his chin on top of my head. "ariel! come on!" i groaned before the hug kinda split apart before i quickly kissed zach on the lips before walking towards the group.
i turned around and waved to zach before running over to the bikes. i got onto mine and sorted out my bandages and waited for cody to get on the back. owen nodded up to the new guy who nodded back and then opened up the gates for the raptors.
the raptors sprinted out into the forest surrounding the paddock. i stayed beside owen the whole time, cody behind me, constantly screaming in my ear to slow down a bit, i just laughed and ignored him in the nicest way possible. at least i wasn't ghosting him like his last boyfriend.
"they're slowing down," barry announced. owen grabbed his radio on his shoulder," they got something." everyone started to slow down. out of the scowls and raptor noises as i stoped i made it out. "they say she's here."
everyone got off the bikes and out the vans, crochet down with their loaded guns, aiming it towards the woods in front of them. seven large thumps vibrated the ground before the indominus rex showed itself.
cody and i were crouched behind barry and owen. "what's being said?" barry asked me. i focused, blocking out the sounds of people breathing and shuffling. "somethings wrong," i said. "they're communicating, and understanding each other. i thought it would just be a mumble of uncoordinated words."
"i know why they wouldn't tell us what that thing's made of. that thing's part raptor," owen said. once the translation of the last thing that was said i stopped, "we have to get out of here," i announced. "why?"
"the rex just declared war on us with the raptors," cody answered. all the raptors turned around and focused on the three of us. "engage!" someone shouted before firing at the indominus rex.
the raptor ran off with the rex before someone fired an rpg at it, causing it to fall over and set the forest alight. "watch you're six! raptors got a new alpha!" owen informed the rest of them. we all travelled past the fired up part before a twig snapped.
cody grabbed my arm, not being afraid like grey does but out of protection. i stopped and looked to see charlie have her head peeking out the top of the long grass. cody let go of my arm and got in front of me and slowly walked towards charlie, his hand held up in front of him and said "hold."
