ariel grady, adopted along with her brother by the raptor king himself. experimented on by a lab when she was young, also trying to bring back the dinos...
the ball spun forward and bounced off the ankylosaurus' as they ran away from the creature. i held onto the side of the sphere as it spun, trying to control my panic. "hold it together man," zach yelled out as grey screamed.
he grabbed ahold of greys hand as the sphere stopped spinning like there was no tomorrow. this would not be great for someone with motion sickness. the rex moved around and turned its attention to the ankylosaurus.
"go! go! drive!" grey and i shouted. we then got bashed by the end of the ankylosaurs tail. i flinched and covered my head, we then slid into a rock, bashing the bottom and making us flip over.
"oh god," i whispered out of fear. i looked down at my hands and saw the scales turning black. zach tried to move the control but the sphere didn't move at all. "the rock killed it," i explain, the blood starting to rush to my head.
we watched the rex and ankylo fight before the rex cut the ankylos leg and turned him over. his jaw then clamped down around the neck of the dinosaur. we all looked away at the sound of the crack.
"i might throw up," i warned, staring at the tree. i then noticed that zach didn't look away and looked like he was on the brink of tears. "we're safe in here right?" grey asked. zach hesitated for a split second. "yeah. we're totally safe," he responded.
on the ceiling...? the floor? of the sphere both mine and zach's phones were buzzing. "shit!" i shouted, i reached out to try and grab both of them. cody was calling mine and claire was calling zach.
i got close to grabbing my phone before grey spoke up. "zach, ari," he said. i looked over to him and followed his eye line. the rex's eye was staring right at us. "i almost go them," zach responded. i hit zach. "zach," i said.
"i know!" he said. "babe," i yelled, making him look up and see the eye looking in. that worked. the rex moved after blinking. it turned the sphere over so we were looking up at it and dug its claw into the ball.
it looked at us for a couple of moments before bitting down on the ball, its teeth breaking through the glass. we all screamed, who wouldn't. maybe i'll take up those therapy sessions. the rex picked up the ball and slammed it into the ground.
zach looked at me and i grabbed my seat belt while he grabbed his brothers. when the rex slammed it down for the third time we took off the seat belts and fell out of the ball. it slammed it down once again and we three huddled together.
"go!" the dark-haired brown teen said and we three sprinted it. it wasn't long before the rex caught on. i was further ahead of the other two, being an experiment had its perks. i brought myself to a halt as i got to the edge of a cliff. the rex broth through the trees.
"grey go!" zach shouted. "we're gonna have to jump!" he shouted at us as he reached me. "i can't!" we both responded. "are you ready? don't kill me. one, two-" he pushed me off the cliff and towards the water.
"i don't know how to swim!" i shouted on my way down. i collided with the water and i held my nose. zach held onto me as we stayed underwater and signalled up to the water. there was a massive roar from the dinosaur.
the rumbles in the water signalled the dinosaur walked away. he pulled me to the surface and i coughed, spitting water out. i breathed before hitting him away from me. "you asshole- wait, i can't swim, please let me hold on," i said rethinking my decision.
he swam to the muddy area which led to the forest with me on his back. he got to the mud and i let go of zach and crawled along by myself. "you jumped," he congratulated his brother. he pulled him in for a side hug before i got up.
"i'm going to squeeze out my clothes, i'll be a minute," i told them before walking a couple of feet into the forest, so full you couldn't see me from about a foot away. i took off my jacket and squeezed it out first.
i then put it on and took my top underneath and started to squeeze that out. it took a couple of twists before most of the water got out. i put it back on and stood up to turn around and see zach.
i smirked. "what? can't go two minutes without seeing me?" i joked. he shook his head. "no, i just... i came to apologise for pushing you off the cliff, especially when you couldn't swim, it was a dick move."
"yeah, it was. but i'm alive and not dead. so thank you," i replied. i tried to walk past him before he stopped me. "what did i do now?" i asked. he touched my forehead and hit him away when it hurt. "you have a cut," he pointed out.
"really captain obvious?" i took my sleeve and whipped it with it. i looked up at him. "better now?" i asked. "or would you like to kiss it better," i joked. he laughed. "i would if your lips hurt," he shot back. i was a bit taken back. "just do it already." i said.
he cupped my cheek before placing his lips on mine. it felt like time had stopped like there wasn't a dinosaur that nearly killed us five minutes ago. it felt like my head skipped a beat and my heart was then pounding out of my chest.
we broke apart and our foreheads touched and my eyes still closed from when they fluttered shut. "hey guys- oh you finally did it," grey commented making me laugh and look at zach. "yeah, took him long enough," i commented before following after grey, dragging zach with me.
"i did not ask for you to gang up on me!" the older brother exclaimed. grey and i shrugged before continuing on through the forest. after a while grey ran off ahead, "please...! be careful," i start before seeing him go out of view.
