The Awakening

A few miles from the entrance of Konoha a dark figure jumped from tree to tree headed towards Konoha.

The figure appeared in the Hokage's house and undid his transformation jutsu. The Hokage continued working on his documents. "How did it go?"

"They don't seem to know about it."

"I see. Thank you for your hard work."

The Uchiha's behavior were deemed suspicious by the elders and Itachi. Itachi found out they were planning a coup d'etat but they won't execute it for another year or so. The Hokage had his most skilled and trusted ANBU to investigate the other villages to make sure they did not know about this information. If they knew about Konoha's situation, they would most likely make a surprise attack on Konoha.

Sasuke and Sakura saw Itachi at home the next day.

"Nii-san!"

"Itachi-nii!"

They gleamed as they ran towards him and gave him a hug. Itachi patted their heads. Sasuke and Sakura told Itachi about everything that happened when he was away on his mission. Including their little incident with the rabbit.

"Nii-san! Can you show us your kunai skills later?"

"And then can you teach us?"

Itachi just came back from his mission so he had some time to spare.

He later brought them to his training spot just a few miles from the village.

Sasuke and Sakura's eyes wandered in excitement when they arrived. They saw targets attached halfway up the tree trunks and one behind a big boulder. They were itching to learn from Itachi. Their eyes followed Itachi as he stepped in front of the big boulder.

Itachi jumped and flipped upside down. As he was falling, he threw some of his kunais. He a couple kunais at the ones he had already thrown to change the course of its direction. When he landed on the boulder, all nine of his kunais had hit the middle of all the targets, even the one behind the boulder. They were in awe and their eyes sparkled with amazement.

"That's so cool nii-san!"

Sakura nodded excitedly in agreement.

"Alright! Here I go!" Sasuke held out his kunais as he ran towards the boulder.

Itachi interrupted him. "We should head back."

"But you said you were going to teach us." Sakura pouted.

"I just remembered I have some business to attend to tomorrow."

"Nii-san you're a liar." Sasuke muttered under breath and pouted.

Itachi gave a slight smile and gestured them to come over. They both smiled and ran towards Itachi.

"Sorry Sasuke, Sakura. Maybe next time." he said as he tapped their foreheads with his index and middle finger.

"Ouch." They both said in unison.

Sasuke still pouted. He wouldn't accept his apology. He ran towards the boulder and attempted to perform Itachi's technique.

"Wait! Sasuke! Don't be-"

THUD

With his unsuccessful attempt, Sasuke twisted his foot. Itachi went over and gave him a piggyback ride. "Let's head back now, Sakura."

"Itachi-nii and Sasuke, you guys can head back first. I'll stay here for awhile." Itachi knew what she was going to do since she won't show it when she's with them.
