Hiah's POV

By the time Dokyeom comes to pick me up, I feel like it's going to be the end of me. To be honest, social gatherings or parties don't make me nervous that much as everytime I go to some, my parents are always there, but knowing that it's going go be just me, I feel like my lungs are going to run out of air from all the breathing that I was constantly doing.

It was so nerve-wracking, eversince I woke up today, I have never stopped thinking about the birthday party that Dokyeom invited me into. I told myself that it's going to be nothing, that it won't literally kill me, but I hate it when I'm talking to people I don't know, let alone be surrounded with them.

I stood infront of the mirror inside my room for the nth time and probably the last time. I constantly kept checking myself, making sure that I was looking decent.

Since the party was semi formal, I only had to wear a knee length dress and it was a black flowy one, my Mom did my make up and it wasn't that heavy, I've never liked natural looks eversince I stopped wearing those extra heavy eyeliner almost everyday.

I instantly diverted my eyes to the door when my Mom called for me from downstairs saying that Dokyeom was already outside. And walking down the stairs all the way to the front door, I only had one sentence in my mind; 'here goes nothing'.

Dokyeom was waiting for me at our front lawn, wearing those expensive looking clothes which were really expensive since I was with him when he bought it. But to be honest, he did looked so good in it, with his slicked back hair, he almost looked as if he was on the same level as his grandpa on business.

He brought a car with him, and it was the first time I would be riding one with him driving it. He opened the door for me as I got in, and when we arrived at the venue of his cousin's ball party, he hopped off the car first and told me to wait, and for the second time, he opened the door for me to come out.

We paved our way to the entrance of the banquet hall, and with every step, I feel like my heart is going to explode any moment now. Once we were exactly at the entrance, I witnessed how many the people were inside, and they all seemed like they were talking to one another in an elegant manner and they all looked so expensive.

It was pretty much the same with Mr. Lee's birthday party, but the difference was my parents were there and it was much more less scary with them. And I never knew how much I needed my parents in almost every moment of my life.

My breath momentarily stopped on its own when Dokyeom out of a sudden placed his hand on my back. "Don't worry, you look amazing.", He whispered as he slightly bend closer to my ears as the place was a bit loud.

I briefly looked at him with a little smile. "Thanks."

Dokyeom was the one who first started to walk, and I just followed him by his side since his hand was still on my back.

I looked around the banquet hall and I was in astonished by how amazingly designed it was, it was sort of a navy blue themed and I liked how dark it was,  it looked elegant with the white lights hanging all over and it became more prominent since the sun was almost hiding.

I stared at the guy that was approaching our direction wearing a very wide grin. I tend my eyes to Dokyeom and it seemed like he was looking at that guy too. And I wasn't wrong when I reckoned that they knew other.

"Hey, dude!", That toothed guy greeted Dokyeom.

"Hey! It's been awhile!", Dokyeom's smile became wider, almost as wide as that guy's.

"It really has been.", From Dokyeom, his eyes gradually travelled its way to me. His grin became smaller, not showing his teeth anymore, but it was still a smile, right now appearing friendly. "Your date..?", His eyes went down to Dokyeom's arm that was placed on my back.
