I awoke to a hospital room. I felt nothing. My clothes were neatly folded on my nightstand, my phone next to them. I picked it up. I had two new messages.

You ok?

Hello

I Set my phone down. I didn't need to respond this moment.

(Jamie's P O V)
He set the phone down. I need him to talk with me. I see his eyes drooping, maybe I can enter his dreams like I did the other night. It was energy draining, but it's worth it. I heard something clanking in the hall. I walked across the room and looked out the door. In the hall a semi-transparent man using a walker stumbled blindly.

"Help! Help me!" He yelled as he fell to the floor. His skin was wrinkly and loose. As he called out I rushed to him. He just sat there staring at the wall. I watched the slow rise and fall of his chest. After a moment it stopped and he faded away. I knew what this was. It was just the energy driven reenactment of this old man's death.

"He walks this hall all the time." I turned and saw a little girl with pigtails standing behind me. She wore a hospital gown that was bloodstained. She walked with an IV in her arm. She extended her other arm in a handshake. "Hi, I'm Jane!" I took her hand. This girl was no older than eight.

"Hi I'm Jamie." Jane gave off a nod along with a satisfied sound.
"How'd you die?" That was a bold thing to ask.
"I had my legs cut off then bled to death." That was probably to gruesome for that little girl.
"I died from a heart disease." She didn't seem fazed at all. "Why did they cut off your legs?" Oh boy, how was I going to explain this. I could lie, but that wouldn't last long.
"They wanted to use my flesh as a pizza topping." I looked at her, but she kept a straight face. After a moment of awkward since she grabbed her IV and bedded off.
"I have to go scare the nurses now. Bye-bye." And she left. I stood in the empty hall waiting for nothing in particular.
