A nurse came in to take my vitals and woke me up. She did her work of giving me my pain medicine, checking my pulse and making sure I was a ok. As soon as she left my cell rang; it was Jamie.
"Hello?"
"Mike! Why didn't you text me back. I've been worried sick. You breaking a rib and all that. I checked on your sis, she's fine. How are you feeling? I can't thin-"
"Jamie, slow down!"
"Just tell me. What happened."
"Well, Macy was a little off. She made me breakfast and started to clean up. I know my sister, and that's not her. She was humming so loud that I couldn't hear the TV. She coughed up blood, came here. I tripped and broke my rib."Silence from the other end for a moment.
"I'm so glad you're okay sugar."
"Sugar?"
"Sorry about that."
"No no, it's alright.......Cinnamon bun."
"Sweat pea!"
"Bumble bee!"
"Hubby wubby!"
At this time we both broke out laughing. We talked for a while longer. Finally a nurse came in and broke us up."Mr.Schmidt." I said goodbye and turned off my phone. I needed to put my phone on the charger. "Mr.Schmidt I have good news. You are all set to go, but we need a signature of a friend or loved one. It's just to make sure that you get cared for." I panicked. My mom and dad were in London and Macy was in here with me, plus my "girl friend", if that's what you want to call her, is part of the undead.
"Well, do need me to call someone? Do you have a girlfriend?"she needed me to talk.
"I sorta have a girlfriend; it's long distance. My parents live in London. Maybe you could call Amy for me. A family friend." I failed to mention my ghost girlfriend, the fact my parents would come crawling at the snap of my fingers and that I have no friends. The nurse left and I gathered my belongings. After I changed into my clothes, that were washed and pressed so neatly, I headed down. In the lobby Amy stood looking at her watch. When I stepped in she came running. A cry escaped her lips as she threw her arms around me in a warm embrace. I winded and she eased up.
"Oh Mike I was so worried! If you had called I would've came sooner. I'm glad you are okay." This behavior was new. I always remembered her calling me "Science freak", "ignorant charmer", "slim Jim" or "nerd." Now that I think about it she seamed to like me. That explained why she was always by me and never quiet. I realized I had a crush on her; I still do in fact. Finally she let go. We walked out of the lobby and into her car. She started it up and we drove off.
