I woke up at around 10am the next morning and felt really good and rested for having a nightmare last night. I wasn't sure why though. I looked at my table and I saw a small bundle of wildflowers from the backyard in a cup of water with a note.
-Just incase you need a pick me up or reason to smile this morning.....Bucky-
I smiled at his note and the flowers. I got out of bed and headed down the stairs to an empty house.
-Sam and Bucky taking a day off from the boat and I took the boys into town. We let you sleep because you looked so peaceful. Love you.- Sarah's note read.
I sighed and knew if everyone was taking a day off I could too. I headed upstairs, showered and got dressed. I headed out the front door. I got in my car and then there was a knock on my car window, I looked at and saw Bucky. I rolled down my window.
"Hey, thanks for the flowers this morning." I said with a smile and I could see a small blush rise in his cheeks.
"After last night I figured you could use something to make you smile." Bucky said and I half nodded.
"I could, thank you." I said and smiled.
"You okay?" Bucky asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, I'm good. Can you tell Sam I just had some errands I wanted to run and I will be back in a little bit?" I asked and Bucky half nodded.
"Yeah, you okay?" Bucky asked and I nodded.
"Of course. I just need to get out." I said Bucky smiled.
"Okay, see you soon." Bucky said and I drove away. As I drove into town I stopped and got some flowers and then took the all too familiar drive that I wasn't even sure I wanted to take until I saw the flowers Bucky left me that morning. I got to the cemetery and drove down the road to get to the area my parents headstone was in. Once I arrived at their headstone I laid the flowers down and then started cleaning weeds from around the headstone.
"Looks like Sarah has kept up on this." I said with a small laugh.
"I am back guys. I am also staying. Boyfriend was an ass, I needed to leave California and I missed home." I said. I sighed knowing this was stupid since they weren't buried here but sometimes it helped give me closure.
"Sam is being his normal annoying self though, Sarah and is amazing and her boys are the best." I said with a smiled and then sighed.
"Sam brought an avenger home. His name is James, but he goes by Bucky. He had a super dark past but he is working through it. He seems like a really sweet guy." I said and I smiled looking at my hands folded in my lap.
"He is really cute mom." I said and huffed a laugh to myself.
"It's only been 2 months since my breakup so I am not sure if I am ready for something right now." I said and groaned.
"Ugh this is too much." I said and got up.
"Love you guys. I will try and be by more now that I am home." I said and walked back to my car. Before I went home I stopped at the grocery store and picked up something of my own that I wanted at the house and I planned on making dinner that night so I needed the supplies. Once I got home Sam and Bucky were sitting on the front porch.
"Hey! Where have you been?" Sam asked.
"Out. Help me with these groceries will you?" I asked and Sam groaned coming off the porch as did Bucky.
"Sarah just went shopping." Sam said.
"I know but I figured I could make dinner tonight. Maybe make my homemade lasagna and an angel food cake for desert." I said and Sam smiled.
