Hidden behind a wall, I observe the students coming out of class. Finally, I can see his brown hair. He is with his friends. He is laughing, freely. I've always loved his smile. It lights up his face so much. 

I smile back. Tine. Oh, Tine. If only you knew the thoughts I have when I look at you. I want to lock you up in a tower, keep you away from all outside influences, have you all to myself, and me alone. 

I don't take my eyes off him, waiting for him to disappear into the crowd, enjoying every second I can get a glimpse of him. I smile, treasuring these new memories in my heart. 

Until the day he is mine. Until the day I can show him all I have done for him, to be with him.

- Tine !

When he turns around, I get his usual bunny smile. I shake his dark hair affectionately. 

- Have you finished school?

- Yes!

- Do you want to go for an ice cream?

He nods enthusiastically, before grabbing my arm and pulling me along behind him. The glacier is on the other side of the campus, so we walk for a while before we get there. All the while, his fingers don't let go of mine. He energetically tells me about his day, in great detail. As always, I'm far too engrossed in his words, his shining face of happiness, and the warmth of his body to pay attention to anything around us.

- Wait, I know a shortcut. A senior told me that we could get to the other side of the campus by going that way.

- What ?

I frown, suddenly very attentive. While I recognise the road we've just left, I'm much less certain about the one we've just taken. I know the campus well enough, and I don't understand how we could get to the other side by passing...

Suddenly, several men appear in front of us. Immediately, I push Tine behind me. I feel him clinging to my shirt, already shaking with fear. There are three of them, wearing masks. In the darkness I can't see much more of them. 

- Wat !

I hear Tine's strangled voice behind me. I turn around, to reassure him, and see that three other men have appeared. I frown, grit my teeth. They have iron bars. Clearly, they want to give me a hard time. But my priority is that Tine gets out of here alive. That he's okay. No matter what happens. I squeeze his hand gently to get his attention.

- Tine, no matter what happens, you have to run away. Do you hear me? The first chance you get, you leave.

- No, no, I don't want to leave you, I want to help you.

- Do it for me. Go get help. Get the rest of the gang. Together we can beat them. I'll be right behind you, okay? Promise me, Tine. Promise me you'll go.

- O-okay...

The first sobs clench his throat. I try not to ruin everything in a second. I must be careful, protect him at all costs. The first group advances. I push Tine against the wall, to keep him away from me.
