You exchanged various hits and jabs with the girl, jumping back to avoid her knife as she slashed at your stomach. It was hard to do any damage to her since you could barely use your fire to attack her head on, and anytime you got close, her little fire minions burned you.

Your lungs felt like hell with every breath you took. Hair matted to your skin and blood dripping from your forehead from the time she grazed you. The sound of your heart drumming filled your ears like a scary melody played in horror movies.

Thrump–Thrump–Thrump

Great, just great. You thought to yourself, sweat dropping down your face as you avoided the sharp knife that craved to touch your skin.

It's been a while since you practiced close combat due to the fact you took to being home most of the day, another regret to add to your list. Long ranged attacks were your comfort zone but now wasn't the best time for excuses.

"Come on, I think my knife has a crush on you. Won't you give it a kiss?" The girl cooed, rapidly swinging her knife at you with all the joy she could muster.

A chill ran down your spine every time she spoke. Her deranged voice, desperate for all the wrong things and laced with the amusement of violence while singing the words of death. You couldn't imagine what the people behind her did to make her this way; psychotic and mesmerized with blood. From her child like vernacular, it wasn't hard to guess she probably didn't get a chance to grow up before... this.

It could of been me.

Your heart swelled and your last attack faltered at the thought. The kick that was supposed to meet her face slowed, giving the second gen enough time to counter it.

"Toooooo slow," your opponent taunted, shoving your leg to the side as she raised her knife again.

You did a backflip to avoid it, using a tad bit of fire in your legs to speed away from her. Creating some distance between the two of you, something rough bumped into your back. Glancing to the side you realized your back hit a table, but before you could react, you were pinned against it.

"You just... w-won't give up would you?" You struggled out a breath.

Crazed brown eyes locked onto yours as blood— her blood, dropped onto your face and ran down your cheek like a tear. You could feel her breath across your neck as she held that twisted smile.

It almost resembled Shinra's.

Almost...

You held your hand on her wrist to prevent her blade from hitting your neck. Your other hand met the wooden surface as she held it down, her weight barely crushing you.

"Aren't you a cutie when you're all scared and vulnerable?" She whispered in your ear like she was telling you a high school crush, making your heart respectfully skip a beat. Her eyes beamed at your wide ones.

No one's ever complimented you in such a creepy way. Her words felt like tiny spiders crawling all over your skin— you couldn't stand it.

This was getting tiring. Some crazy chick was happily dancing circles around you and now you were pinned. You were really gonna get your ass beat on your first mission?

Hell no.

You breathed, closing your eyes to clear your mind for a moment. What the hell did I learn in training?

"Kasai! Are you sleeping again?"  The voice of your sensei startled you from your nap. You were quick to tilt up your head and open your eyes to see her standing in front of you.
