Addy's pov

It was a Saturday and I was chilling in my room, listening to the Smiths, completely zoned out. My music is disrupted by my mum's call, she is pretty much gotten used to me not listening to her over the volume of the music, so she just calls now and saves time. "Yes, mom", "Addy come down here". I hang up and go downstairs. "Addy, honey, Zach is alone in his house, Lindsey, John and Morgan are gone for a couple of days so I want you to take this for Zach." My mum had made lasagna for dinner and very generously given Zach an entire casserole. "Mum he's probably with his hotshot girlfriend Bethany, I just don't wanna drive 15 mins to interrupt a hookup or probably something else", "Addy do what I asked you to do, he and Bethany broke up anyway, and its been a week, sweety be updated I know more than you" she smirks and I am full-blown by this news, "They broke up, Woah, this is news, well I should not be this surprised anyway since he straight up ignored me after he got his new friends and girlfriend like I was an object, thrown after I was no longer needed. Ma can you just go and give Zach the lasagna, I'll snap at him", "Addy I understand what he did was wrong but his parents and I have been friends for years and I must take care of Zach in their absence, I would have gone myself but Mrs Jackson just called and she needs help with a yard sale she's planning", "Ugh, fine I'll go". I take the lasagna and grab my coat, the engine starts and I head over to the Reeves'. On my way, I listen to the playlist Zach and I made our sophomore year, back when we were best friends. I reach the Reeves' house and see only one light open, I ring the bell and wait for Zach. "To what do I owe the pleasure of Adrienne Heaton," he says after opening the door. "Cut it out Zach, mum was kind enough to send you some lasagna and I was kind enough to drive here"
"She sent lasagna?? I was craving lasagna!!!"
"Lasagna is your favourite, douchebag, mum probably had that in mind"
"Addy you remember!!!"
"Of course I do, you once had soo much that you had to sleep over" I chuckle.
"Would you like to come in?" He asks politely, "I'm sorry, I have to go, mom has some errands to run so I have to be home, some other day", I lie, "yeah sure, we have a lot of catching up to do anyway." Hey, Zach" I say as he turns around, "Mum told me you and Bethany broke up, I'm sorry you couldn't work it out". He gives me a weak smile and goes inside and I go back to my house. I feel something is wrong but shake that out of my head as I was still mad at Zach
