Into The Reality - Epilogue
"Love. Wake up. Do you want to go home to rest? Baka kulang ka sa tulog." Naramdaman ko na lang ang bisig ni Martin na naka-yakap sa likuran ko. Kinabahan ako nang maka-tulog ako. Nasa trabaho, pero naka-idlip ako.
"I'm sorry..." Kinusot ko ang mga mata ko. "I feel like I just woke up from a long nightmare. Pero hindi ko na maalala kung ano 'yun." I reasoned out.
"Nightmares exist to heal the problems of reality. That's why you don't remember everything when you have a nightmare," sagot ni Martin at hinalikan ako sa pisnge.
"Talaga ba, Doc?" Natawa ako. Pati siya ay nahawa sa bungisngis ko. Ang seryoso niya kasi mas'yado.
Nandito kami sa office ni Martin. Becoming his girlfriend really meant that he'll become possessive and clingy of me.
I didn't want the special treatment and I asked Martin for me to work regularly at my actual working table but he was really determined to have me stay with him at the CEO's office. To be honest, I was safer here at his office because I'm sure that my co-workers will stare at me and judge me that I'm receiving special treatment, and sino ba namang girlfriend ang ayaw maka-sama ang boyfriend niya, 'di ba?
"Parang may kaunti akong naalala sa bangungot ko..." I suddenly said. Sumakit pa ng bahagya ang ulo ko. Pagkatapos kong sabihin 'yun, Martin wanted me to tell me what it was. And because of that nightmare, I thought of a game concept.
"So you want a game with the same story plot as ours?" "I don't want the tragic part, though. I don't think games are supposed to have a tragic ending. People play because they intend of winning it. Besides, I don't want us to have a sad ending even if it's just a video game."
"The ending depends on the decisions of the player! There's a bad ending, and a happy ending. They'll have to start from the beginning if they happen to get a bad ending. Isn't it nice? They will have choices just like in life. You're not sure if you'll get a happy ending, just like in life. We're not in control, and we will never be in control anyways." I smiled. "Come on, agree with my game concept, please? Maganda naman, ah!"
I thought of this concept because I wanted a fairy tale video game for kids to play that also entails realistic segments and lessons.
The concept of the video game I wrote includes a male game hero who's a track runner, and he has a princess to save named Princess Katrina from a darkness cloud that takes all happiness. Along the way, he will fight monsters which symbolizes struggles in life, he will also have choices which makes the game a decision-based story. His decisions will lead him to an ending – a bad ending where he couldn't save his princess from the darkness taking her - and a good ending where the princess and the track runner hero ends up together. I imagined it having a pixel resolution like Mario.
"Will you marry me?" I'd never marry someone else other than you. I can never see my future if it's not with you." My face remained in confusion. "I'll agree to have your game under my company. I'll do the graphics as well. Just, marry me, then we'll have that happy ending in real life."
