"AVRIL JADE BLACK, GET DOWNSTAIRS NOW. YOU WILL BE LATE TO HOGWARTS!!" My mother yelled at me.
"Mom, ive been downstairs and ready to leave for ages" I replied gloomily from the frount door.
"Oh. But arent you gonna have breakfast sweety?" She asked. I shook my head.
"Im not hungry mum. Can we just go?" I asked
"Yea yea. Your father will take you. Sirius!! Take Avril to the platform!" She yelled diverting her attention from me to my father. Yep you heard right. Sirius Black is my father and Jade Black is my mother. We were a happy family as my mother put it but I was different. I stood at the door waiting for my father in my black tights, t shirt, runners and jacket. My black eyeliner, mascara and lipstick was covered by my long black hair fell beside my face shielding me from others. I stood there emotionless as I held my black owl (Opal) in my left hand and my black suitcase in the other. My father had placed an undetectable extension charm on it so I could fit all my books. Mom always complained about how I might as well shove a book shelf in it aswell.
As soon as my dad walked through the frount door, he grabbed my arm and apparated. I was used to it so I didn't throw up. As we appeared in kings cross station, I saw the wall and ran through it. My dad and I appered on the other side and saw a large, red train clearly labelled as "the Hogwarts express". It was huge.
"Now this is your train be safe Avril." Dad said as he hugged me.
"Ok dad" I said as I rolled my suitcase towards the train door and held Opal. I walked down each compartment until I found an empty one right at the end in the corner. I pulled out my potions book and started reading it. I loved potions. It was my favorite. I sat quietly reading for a while until someone knocked on the door an opened it carefully.
"May I sit?" A monotone voise came from the person. I looked up. A tall man with black hair that went to his shoulders stood in long black robes. Much like how I dress. I nodded silently.
"As long as your quiet. I would like read my potions book" I said
"Potions?" He asked
"Yea potions. Its my favorite subject. I love it. I cant understand how anyone cant. But I betcha these students are as dumb as they come" I said
"Dont worry they are" he said
"Excuse me" I asked
"Im the potions professor" he said. I blushed. I cant believe I told him that. "And you are?" He asked
"Im Avril" I stated
"Avril who?"
"Just dont hate me. Father said you would if I told you"
"I wont"
"Avril Jade Black. Daughter of Sirius and Jade Black" I said "you dont hate me do you?" I asked
"No. It was just him I hated" he said through gritted teeth "anyway as your professor, I advise you change into your school robes. Ill be outside so tell me when your done" he said as I nodded.
When I finished changing, I opened the door and quietly asked him to come back in.
"Oh by the way Miss Black-"
"Avril"- I said, "call me Avril"
"Avril, well what year are you in?" He asked "you dont look like a first year"
"No. Im in the 5th year this year" I said.
