The next morning, Faith ate her breakfast as fast as possible, and ran out of the great hall excitedly.
"Daniel! Lottie!" Faith called out, running towards her two best friends.

The two ravenclaws turned around, smiling widely, and gathered Faith into a group hug.

"Faith!" Daniel called back, smiling at her warmly," I missed you idiot!"

Daniel was almost like a brother to Faith, he was warm and protective, and the two were so similar they joked they were long lost twins in 2nd year. Even though Faith actually had two older brothers, she always felt as though Daniel understood her more.

"I missed you both," Faith smiled, kissing them on the cheek.

"How was you summer?", Lottie asked, beaming.

"It was alright," Faith lied. In all honesty, one of the only good things about her summer had been writing letters to the two of them.
"How were yours?" She asked, wrapping her arms around their shoulders and walking to their potions lesson.

"It was amazing," Daniel replied. Lottie and Daniel's parents were good friends, which mean they spent almost every holiday together. They had invited Faith a few times, knowing how little she enjoyed spending the summers at her own house, but this year Faith had not been permitted to join them; her parents had decided they would go on a holiday of their own.

As they walked down the corridors, the golden sunlight streaming through the windows, they made their way to the dimly lit dungeons. Lottie and Daniel enthused about their holiday to Canada, where they had enjoyed skiing with their families. Faith couldn't help but feel slightly jealous.

The day went by slower than usual for Faith. By the end of the day, the sunny sky had changed into a grey, cloudy blanket surrounding the school, making her history of magic class ten times more boring. She shared this class with the hufflepuffs, meaning she didn't have Lottie or Daniel to get her through Professor Bins' debilitatingly boring lectures.

History of magic was Faith's worst subject; her grades were still relatively better than the rest of her class (excluding Tom Riddle of course), but she often found her mind wondering during that class.

Tom Riddle however, seemed to be in a permanent state of concentration, even when facing the irritatingly long history of magic lessons. Faith glanced at him sitting in the front row, furiously scribbling down notes as Professor Bins spoke. He seemed to be the only one in the class who hadn't lost focus at this point in the lesson.

At the end of the class, Faith waited outside the door and and grabbed Tom's arms as he left the classroom.
He glared at her. She smiled.

"What do you want, Silvers?"

"I told you yesterday, I have a surprise for you!" She grinned, "follow me,"

Tom rolled his eyes, walking behind her. Faith lead him to the seventh floor left corridor.

"Silvers, why on earth did you bring me here?" He asked, exasperated.

Faith did not reply, but instead she began walking past the wall opposite a strange tapestry three times, chanting 'I need a place to study' in her head. Tom watched her inquisitively.

A door suddenly appeared, making Faith squeal with excitement and pride. She opened the door, revealing a large room filled with bookshelves and desks, places to practice spells, cauldrons and comfortable looking chairs. The room was lit by candle, making it look cosy despite the large space, and the warmth from the fireplace draw the two slytherins inside.

"This is the-" Tom spoke, amazed.

"The room of requirement, yes," Faith finished, turning to Tom proudly, "I was so bored during the summer that I decided to read more about hogwarts and I discovered this place,"

Tom raised an eyebrow, "Why are you showing me this?"

"Well, it's an apology gift I suppose. I know I'm not your favourite person, and after all these years of me irritating you I figured you should have a place to be alone. Besides, I don't really need it," She smiled.

"Well, thank you. I suppose it would be nice to have a place to be alone," he nodded.

"It's all yours," Faith laughed, turning to leave.
