~Peter McWilliams☆ |before the dinner party|
November 23rd, the Saturday of the Slug club dinner party, was approaching faster than Faith had anticipated. The entire week had been a blur. Although Faith usually enjoyed the idea of a dinner party: being able to pick out a pretty dress to wear, interesting conversation and an enjoyable night, Faith simply wasn't excited for it.
In all honesty, the only thing preventing Faith from being eager to attend the dinner party, was Andrew. She had made it clear to him that they would only be going as friends, but she wasn't sure he was totally convinced. Lottie had told Faith a few days ago that by accepting his invitation, she was sending Andrew 'false signals'; this was the last thing that Faith intended and she simply hoped that Andrew would understand that she just isn't interested.
Faith wasn't interested in anyone, and she never really had been. In 3rd year, she dated a hufflepuff boy, Edgar Jacobs, for about a week. They did the usual 3rd year relationship things - a peck on the lips, holding hands etc. Faith realised soon after that she just wasn't 'relationship material '. She had a tendency to distance herself from people, which is usually something that is frowned apon during relationships. So, she stopped trying to become relationship material.
It was Friday, November 22nd, the day before the dinner party, and Faith had promised Amara that after class they'd help each other pick out their dresses; Amara wasn't a part of the Slug Club, but was attending as Abraxas Malfoy's date.
"Will you be attending the Slug Club meeting tomorrow?" Tom Riddle interrupted Faith's worried overthinking, almost as if he had read her mind.
She suddenly remembered where she was; it was potions class, where she sits next to Tom. The rest of the class were hurriedly scribbling down notes as Professor Slughorn lectured the students. Faith had been staring into the patch of golden light streaming through the window, lost in thought.
"Um, yeah I'm going, are you?," Faith replied, snapping out of her trance and quickly attempting to catch up on the notes she had missed.
"Yes I suppose I will. I heard you will be attending as Andrew Preston's date, is that correct?" Tom asked, smiling.
Faith and Tom hadn't really talked much, other than in class, since their conversation in hogsmeade. The way Tom had reacted to Faith that day was strange, Faith had noticed. However, she was particularly regretful for opening up to Tom Riddle, of all people. The things she had told him that day were things not even Daniel knew.
"Um yeah, we're going together. Just as friends though", she added,"are you going with anyone?"
"I'll be attending on my own", Tom scoffed, "dates are not my thing."
Faith laughed, as she continued to hurriedly scribble down notes she had missed.
"Here",Tom said, passing Faith his perfectly neat notes,"You can copy the notes from here,"
Faith sighed, relieved, and stretched out her cramping hand,"Thanks Tom",She smiled.

{Faith's outfit}
The afternoon before the dinner party, Faith had spent it with Amara in their dorm room, getting dressed up for the meeting.
Faith had chosen a silky sage green dress, with strings of lace around the wait and a gathered skirt that would flow if she spun around. Faith was doing her hair carefully, leaving it down in it's natural wavy state, and enchanting flowers to stay in her golden locks.
Amara had chosen a dark, forrest green, satin ruched strappy dress with her silky brown hair gathered into a bun. The dark dress compliment her pale skin tone and made her look elegant and stylish.
"You look amazing, Amara!" Faith grinned as she applied her mascara and a touch of plum lipstick.
"You look as stunning as ever Faith," Amara replied, gathering Faith into a side hug.
"We'd better get going", Amara said, putting away her smoky eyeshadow and grabbing her matching green satin shoulder bag. "I told Abraxas that I'd meet him in the common room," She smiled at the mention of Abraxas.
Faith despised Abraxas Malfoy. He was merely just another stereotypical pure blood elitist slytherin, who bullied muggle borns for fun.
"Whatever, I still can't believe you agreed to go with that nitwit," Faith muttered, grabbing her bag and following Amara out of their dorm room.
"He's not that bad," Amara laughed, "He's different this year...nicer"
"Sure," Faith rolled her eyes.
When the two entered the common room, they spotted Malfoy, wearing dark green dress robes, his white blonde hair slicked back. He looked as pretentious as ever, Faith thought.
"Amara, you look beautiful," he smilled, making her blush involuntarily.
"Malfoy." Faith smiled, nodding at him.
"Silvers." Abraxas nodded back, his tone stern.
Faith thought it was strange the way Malfoy had replied; sure, they both disliked each other, but as they walked down the corridors towards the dinner party, Faith noticed Abraxas eyeing her suspiciously. How strange.
