I let out an exasperated sigh as Alex, my new assistant, came into my office for the fifth time today. Apart from the fact that she's attracted to me, and does nothing to hide it, every time she comes in here means that there's more time out between me and going home.

"Hello sir-"

For the most part I tuned her out. Her voice was high pitched and aggravating to hear. I made sure to pick out the important bits of information, mainly just dates I needed to remember, and meetings scheduled. I leant back in my chair, and waited for her to finish talking and leave, when something she had said spiked my attention.

"Say that again." I demanded, sitting up in my chair and placing both feet on the ground. I watched her sigh as she retraced back to what she had said.

"Samuel called. He said something about Mrs Greene leaving. He didn't say much, but he did give me a locat-"

"I already know where she is. You're dismissed." I responded, not giving her a second to protest.

Fucking Violet. I knew this was going to happen. She doesn't fucking listen.

I practically flew down the stairs with how fast I was going down them. I was outraged. She has one rule to follow. One simple fucking rule, and yet she can't do it. I audibly groaned as an intern knocked into me on my way to the exit. She gasped as the papers in her hand went flying.

"I'm so sorry Mr Greene. I'll pick them up." She frantically apologised, dropping to her knees and scrambling to pick up all the papers.

I had no time to waste tending to her needs. I adjusted my tie, it having been knocked in the collision and stepped over the muttering girl. A few other members of my staff had rushed over to help her, but I ignored every one of them. Once I had made it to my car, I let out a huff of frustration.

As I started to drive I could feel myself become more and more agitated with her. I should've known she wasn't going to listen to me. She's impulsive, and stubborn, and hot-headed. It's all the reasons I fell in love with her, but it's the same things about her that drive me up the wall.

I knew I needed to try and calm myself down before I got to her, and I thought I was doing a good job at it. Until I got out at where I needed to be and nearly shattered the car windows with how hard I shut the door. I let the grunt rest in my throat as I went to climb the hike trail.

I huffed in exhaustion as I reached the top of the trail. As much as she's pissed me off I have to admit, she does pick the best damn skyline points. I started scouting around, trying find her on one of the benches. I could feel my neck begin to get hot as I couldn't see her straight away, but I was immediately calmed when I saw the back of her head.

"I thought I'd find you here." I grumbled as I got closer.

She didn't disturb at all. Her eyes remained closed and she still had her hands resting on her knees palms up. Her legs were slightly spread, to the width of her hips. Her brown hair was pulled into a high pony tail, and she looked very serene in her choice of white dress. It was loose fitting and ended around her knee.

"476." Is all she said to me as I sat down next to her on the bench. She had still yet to open her eyes.

"What?" I half laughed with confusion.

"476. That's how many fucking doors we have in our house. Including windows, cupboards, and draws." She replied, finally opening her eyes and looking at me.

I let out a sigh. I can see in her eyes that she's bored. They're dull and drooped. Every other part of her is deceiving. From her posture, to her smile. But her eyes. She can never lie to me with her eyes.

"You shouldn't be out here." I said softly, watching her roll her eyes.

"Fuck off Kade." She scoffed, swatting my hand away from hers.

"You are so close to being nine months pregnant V. You promised you'd stay at home for the last month. Why are you here?" I asked, trying not to get annoyed with her.

"Because it's not fucking fair K. I've been out of work for three months already. You're still working, despite me relentlessly trying to convince you to take time off. From your own fucking company. I can't do it. I don't wanna be stuck looking at the same four walls ever day of my life. It gets boring." She argued.

Her words made my chest feel heavy. I know she longs to be out as much as she can, and there's nothing that I wanna do more but grant her that wish. Except for the urge to keep her safe. This is our first baby, and she already terrifies me with how reckless she is. Last week she tried to hospitalise me with a heart attack when I came home and saw her stood up on a ladder painting the ceiling of her dance room.

"You're gonna be the death of me Violet." I sighed, lifting her onto my lap.

She nuzzled her head into the crook of my neck. My hands were placed low on her stomach as she hummed into my neck. Her heartbeat was slowed and relaxed, and her breathing shallow. I could feel her breath rolling down my neck as her hands rested on mine.

"I'll take time off. I won't go in until after he's born." I whispered to her, placing kisses on her shoulder that was slightly exposed to me.

"You better. I'm not risking going into labour with you in the middle of a fucking meeting. If you weren't gonna do it I would've." She responded, a giggle held in her throat.

She lifted her head out of my neck and stared up at me. I turned my head so I could fully see her, and she smiled up at me. She went cross eyed slightly as she looked at my nose, her eyes clouding with mischief and contemplation.

"Don't do it."

Apparently my words only seemed to make her want to do it more. Because before I had even blinked I felt her teeth latched around my nose lightly. Both of us made eye contact and almost immediately started laughing.

"Can I have my nose back please?" I asked as she smiled up at me.

"Okay." She agreed, kissing my lips instead.

She disconnected our lips and rested her forehead against mine. I shut my eyes and sighed in content, following her breathing pattern and feeling her breath fan over my face. I opened my eyes slightly to see hers shut. She looked so serene and calm, her lips were pulled in a slight smile. I closed my eyes again and fully allowed my head to rest against hers.

"Violet?"

"Mhm?"

"Why is my legs wet?" I asked as I opened my eyes again, just in time to see hers shoot open with fear.

"What?"
