the demon rumbled in the iron horse between your legs as the miles sped away beneath its black wheels. you grinned despite the way the bitter air pinched at your cheeks, and gave an unconscious squeeze to the lever on the great y-shaped rudder, coaxing yet more power from the magnificent machine.

the cold night was tucked under a woolen dove-grey sky, the road ahead of you only illuminated by a variety of streetlights, paving the way towards your destination.

and when you finally arrived, parking up your motorcycle next to what you recognized to be mikey's own, you kicked up the stand and hopped off.

"i'm starting to think you're followin' me around."

your head perked up at the sound of a deep and grumbly voice speaking no less than a few meters away from you, seizing your attention. when you saw who it was, you smiled.

with his long black hair and eyes that were a marriage of light browns and sage green, baji leaned against mikey's doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest, flashing his pearly whites.

"you wish," you grinned, laughing breathily as you jogged towards him - or rather mikey's room, considering how cold it was. winter was surely approaching, judging by the way it nipped at the tips of your fingers and nose.

baji refused to move from the door, which made you jokingly frown. "let me in, keisuke," you told the boy, playing into his game. instead, he smirked down at you, his fang boyishly poking over his lip. "c'mon, it's cold out here!"

the second baji turned to move, a figure blurred towards him from behind, almost throwing him out of the way. "hey, wh-?!"

"y/n!" mikey beamed, discarding his brown-eyed friend, "i thought you weren't gonna show."

with widened eyes, you glanced between baji and his blonde accomplice, trying your best to suppress an amused smile. "what made you think i wouldn't?"

without any further procrastination, mikey took hold of your wrist and yanked you inside his room, which certainly looked more mature than you would've assumed. baji followed in behind with a grunt, rolling his eyes.

"easy, mikey," a new voice spoke from the couch. your eyes landed on a familiar lilac-haired boy, who spoke through a lazy grin. "don't rip her arm off."

reluctantly, the toman leader released you with a pout. you glanced around his room, noticing most things were colored black and white.

"nice place," you told the boy, who hopped over the back of the couch and planted himself next to a familiar silver-haired boy.

"yeah," he nodded, picking up his previously discarded controller. "it's mostly my brother's stuff."

'mikey has a brother...?' you wondered, surprised by the new information. if he did, he had to have been older than him. no ordinary kid had a ton of tools and motorcycle parts just lying around.

the sound of baji shutting the door to mikey's room brought you back down to earth. you felt like you recognized the two boys beside him from somewhere, but you couldn't quite place your finger on it. as you shrugged off your coat, you asked, "these your friends?"

"yep. mitsuya takashi, at your service," the handsome boy with a dimpled grin said.

"oh, shit," you realized, recalling where you'd encountered him before. "second division captain, right? i threatened you back at the moebius meeting?"
