Other than the mirror note, the others (apart from Emily) had gotten notes too, Lottie lied and said she hadn't gotten one. It was wrong to keep lying but it never felt like the right time to expose her friendship with Toby.
Certainly not when A had reviled to Aria's mom about her dad's affair. That at least explained the odd phone call they had days before.
"I'm sorry, but if you're gonna cheat, you might as well do it with somebody who deep-conditions her hair occasionally" Hanna said. "Like Lottie's dad!"
Lottie's head snapped up from her coffee cup, "I'm sorry?" Lottie scoffed.
"Here, put something in your mouth, besides your foot" Spencer said. Hanna looked at Aria and Lottie, "I'm sorry, okay? Look, all i'm saying is that when my dad left, laughing sometimes helped. So did crying". Lottie shrugged, "I stole my dad's good wine But Hanna's plan sounds a lot more health".
Aria rose from the sofa in anger, "My father hasn't left, guys. I mean, this happened over a year ago".
silence.
"You think he's gonna leave?" Aria asked. Lottie reached out putting her hand over Aria's, "We don't know, but we're gonna be here".
"Thank you guys for staying here. I couldn't have been here alone" Spencer said moving the conversation along. "When's your family getting back?" Hanna asked. "this afternoon". "You gonna clean your mirror first?" Lottie asked. Spencer looked nervous. "I'll come" Lottie smiled, jumping down from her seat. "We should all go" Aria said standing up, Emily followed.
Only Hanna stayed sitting. "You know. It doesn't take five of us to clean a mirror, so why don't you four go, and I'll just wait here". "Fine" Aria nodded. "You stay down here. Alone". "Make sure you lock the door" Lottie grinned over her shoulder.
"Great" Hanna smiled, standing. "You spray, I'll wipe".
Everyone stopped hearing Hanna phone beep. "Well. The creature's back. We should've never unblocked our phone.

"Open the attachment" Emily told Hanna. "Does she have too?" Lottie muttered. Hanna did it anyway. The attachment was a video of all of them finding the message on the mirror. "That's us!" Aria cried. "Was that shot from inside your closet?" she asked. "A was watching us!" Spencer said looking up the stairs.

Sallie stood in the kitchen going through the mail, Lottie sat at the table, finishing up her English homework. "You don't get any of those letters anymore" Sallie said. Lottie looked up, "We text a bit, ever since Ali-" was all she had to say before Sallie's arms were around her. "Oh sweetie" she murmured.
