A/N: Hi everybody! Long time no see on Wattpad! Glad to be back with another story! This story is more than halfway written already. So the updates should come pretty fast (and shouldn't interfere with me updating Uncontrollable Heat on Galatea).
Thanks for joining me on this ride :)***
"Gabby!"
At the sound of her name, Gabriella spun around, spotting Katie jogging in her direction. Crap. She was a creature of habits and it was routine for them to meet in the dining hall after class. Except - well she had been a little distracted lately.
To say the least.
She'd gone from a simple girl to... a tattoo-ed whatever shady business involved girl. It didn't help that Katie's dad was a high-rank officer in the police department. Considering what her family may or may not have done - she didn't want to talk about it with her best friend.
And that was killing her.
Though part of her wished she could rage about Niccolo. Another ass who thought being good-looking was a free pass to do whatever he pleased... Yes, he looked like eye candy. No, she didn't want to spread her legs and drop her panties for him.
"Hey - sorry."
"Where are you running off to like a thief in the night?" Katie asked, out of breath. She put her hands down on her jeans-covered thighs, inhaling forcefully, trying to fill her lung with air.
Away from you? "Sorry - I... I was gonna go see my grandpa again." Yup, lie by playing with her friend's heartstrings. That was decent of her...
The corners of Katie's mouth slumped downwards as she stood back up straight. Her long brown ponytail swayed left and right as she huffed out a big breath of air. "I gather he's not doing any better?"
She shook her head. "Not really."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine - it's just- sometimes it seems like I missed out. I was too busy ignoring everything he wanted to teach me, and now I wish I had taken the time to learn."
Except the killing... mafia-possible stuff? She could have lived her life never knowing that.
"Hey, Conticello."
Although she had not heard that voice often, the sound of it was enough to send a chill down her spine. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping it was all a figment of her imagination.
She knew what she reluctantly agreed to... but he could not possibly be here now could he? After such a short amount of time? Didn't he have anything better to do? Also. Here? At her university? Who the hell was he? Then again, if she were to go through the list stalker was nowhere near kidnapper and murderer... she did not know why this kind of behavior surprised her.
"Gabriella... do you know this guy?" asked Katie as she eyed him up and down.
"I'll be right back," she said, dismissing Katie's questions. She did not need to be asked questions to which she had no answers. She lied enough for one day.
She quickly stole a glance around, hoping no one else heard him scream her name - wrong name - from across campus. She did not need anyone wondering what she was up to, which was nothing.
This was a nightmare.
They wouldn't know though right. He was just a guy, calling out to her. Nothing more.
