The road had begun quiet, Gabriella nestled between Leo and Tony, while Francesco had observed, smiling the whole time. Somewhere near the three hours mark, Gabriella had closed her eyes, keeping her breathing steady and her body limped.
Initially, her thought had been that if they thought she was asleep, they might leave her alone and stop trying to change her mind about going.
"I'm sure you've considered it."
She felt Tony stiffen next to her. "Considered what?"
They thought she was asleep?
She thought they had decided to humor her; she didn't think they bought it...
"Gabriella," Francesco replied. "She's a pretty girl. None of you thought about testing her once Niccolo is done?"
"N-" There was a pause. "He ain't done. I'm not gonna step in where I'm not wanted," he settled on answering. "Usually the girls - they don't stay long."
"Now, now," Francesco said with a chuckle. "That's not true. That redhead - she's been around for a couple of years, hasn't she? I know lots of you have had your fun. I certainly enjoyed her. Niccolo also had a bit of fun with her."
"Vanessa - it didn't last long."
"But he tossed her right? Isn't he going to do the same with our little friend here?"
"Of course, he is," Leo intervened. "We all know no one holds his interest long enough."
"Right." Silence. "Our dear Niccolo isn't a one-woman type of man. Silly me."
She couldn't be hurt by this conversation. Gabriella already knew that Niccolo had... been with many of the women that hung around and lived in the mansion. She knew he was a man whore. She also knew that whatever they had, it was temporary. She wasn't interested in a long-term something with a man like him and... well as Francesco had so nicely put it; he wasn't a one-woman type of man.
He would get bored, probably soon, and move on to his next conquest. As long as he honored the promises he had made to her, she didn't care what he did - and with who. She truly didn't. She'd get some peace. It was good. Hopefully, it would happen soon.
Yes. That was what she wanted.
Truly.
"We'll be arriving shortly. Let us hope that his temper will not get the best of him once he sees all of you."
Right.
The drive was so long, that she'd forgotten about the fact that Niccolo would be utterly pissed off by the time she would arrive there. A little late for that...
It took a few more minutes, but eventually, the car pulled over, coming to a full stop. "I do believe this is where our dear friend is staying. He does enjoy being first so that he can pick out the best location." She heard Francesco unbuckle himself. "Shall I wake her, or will we let his anger do that for us?"
Leo sighed as he grabbed Gabriella's shoulder, shaking her awake. She blinked a few times, trying to pull off the I-just-woke-up look. "We're here," he whispered.
Unfortunately for Gabriella, she wasn't even quite completely out of the car when a loud curse came from not too far from them. No one was surprised when Niccolo popped into view.
"What the fuck is wrong with you morons?"
"I- Niccolo she was gonna come either way. Okay, we thought it'd be safer if we came with her. We didn't wanna leave her with him."
