New beginnings.

Always meant to be a good thing right?

I hope so.

--

I blink my eyes open to the sound of gravel, surrounded by trees and what i think is dusk skies. I must have slept through the night.

I feel so calm and warm, so weird.

I lift my head and find that i was laying on tims shoulder, and his hand is rested onto mine. My face begins to heat up and i look over to him.

But before i can get a good look at him, he slumps over and his head lands on my shoulder, oh how the tables have turned.

I stiffen, trying not to wake him.

The sound of a male newscaster radiates from the truck radio, explaining the weather for the next week. Brian is focoused on the road, quietly cussing underneath his breath about almost getting lost.

Tims hand squeezes mins ever so slightly and he lighty nuzzles closer to me, making me chuckle.

"Oh goodmorning lovebird, dont worry about him doing that, hes got a weird thing for cuddling. Trust me. I would know, I had to share a bed with this guy for three months."  He visibly shivers.

I let out another soft chuckle, "we arent dating, Tim isnt attracted to me like that, just friends. Been that way for over a year now."

Brian lets out a soft scoff, "uh huh, bullshit"

We make a turn onto a driveway to a decent sized cabin. A light shade of brown covers the cabin like house.

"This is it, funally. Get Tim up so we can begin unpacking, I dont live far from here, only about a mile."

I hesitate to wake him. I left his head up slightly then drop it back down onto me, he springs to a sitting position, groggy as hell.

"Are we here already?" The rubs his hands on his face to wake himself up, his voice a little more gruff than normal.

"Yeah, brians trying to get the stuff ready to be moved into the house." I open the truck door and slide out, Tim scooting from the middle seat and out of the same door. Our shoes make a calming sound as we walk along gravel.

We begin to get everything into the house, its not much and everything isnt really clean, but its all we can do for now until we can get into town and buy new things.

After we finally finish getting everything out of his truck and set up, Brian makes his way out of the driveway and, most likely, back to his place.

Tim walks around the house, getting a good scope of things. I decide to do the same following him like a lost puppy.

The small cabin is actually bigger than i thought it was. It has a basement that us surprisingly well kept. An attic that could use a little fixing but i doubt we will be using it for anything other than storage.

Me and Tim ran into eachother a few times, both of us rounding a corner to fast.

"Hey tim? Should we go into town and buy some paint? I think this house would look nice with a new coat."
Tim and I both decided that sitting down for a bit would be nice after all of todays events."

We need chairs, beds, basically everything. The house is bare as hell. Having more stuff in it will help make it feel more like a home rather than a house.

"Yeah, I think with nothing in here we could get some painting done easily and quicker" Tim shifts over to look at me, messing with a small marble on the floor.

He stands, walks over to a small end-table and grabs his wallet, checking the contents of it before glancing at me.

I have no idea how he gets so much money, i dont even think he works. But its none of my business so i never ask.

He makes his way back to me and extens a hand to help me up, i take it.

We make our way into town, which isnt too far maybe about a quarter mile.

The town isnt small but it isn't big either. The people here all look kind, but there are quite a few homeless residents the majority hopped up on some type of drug.

Which can be scary depending on who you stumble upon, there are quite a few people who make me wary about going out at night while in town.

This town will never compare to my home place. Nothing will. Never.

As Tim and I make our way around town, scoping out the area, we find what we are looking for. A small shop for paint and home decor.

We make our way inside and begin looking around, nobody bothers us at first. Until a young woman strides up to us, seemingly eyeing Tim like hes candy.

"Well hello there, are you new to town?" Her brunette hair bounces on her heels when she stops in front of Tim, deliberately between the two of us. Too close for comfort.

"Uh, yeah. I came here with her-"

She shoots me a quick glance but shrugs it off and continues her little one sided conversation with Tim, "so you seeing anybody? Hmm? Can i take you out for coffee sometime? Youre pretty cute."

She seems too comfortable with someone she just met a total of two minutes ago.

"Sorry but no. Im with her." Tim scoots closer to me and grabs my hand, bringing it to her face to make sure she sees our interlocking fingers.

My heart jumps to my throat but i manage keep a straight face, glaring daggers at her.

She looks over to me, scoffs and walks away, stomping.

I look at tim, "the hell was that?"

"Im sorry, she wouldnt get off my back and her breath smelt like spoiled milk," He shivers and lets go of my hand.

I let out a soft chuckle at his comment about her breath.

Why did he say that we were together though? I dont understand. I dont question any further.

We continue looking around around for the right color.

Later we decide on a color and begin making our way outside and back to our new home.
