Depending on your dance school, makeup rules can vary. At my studio, Madame allowed us to wear makeup, but it had to be super minimal and natural. No bold colors or dark shades unless we were performing.

Even if your studio allows foundation, it's not the most comfortable thing to wear while dancing. Sometimes, I end up skipping makeup altogether, depending on my mood or how my skin looks. If you don't have acne yet, I honestly recommend going makeup-free. If you have acne like me though, a tinted moisturizer or BB cream can be a lifesaver. It's light but gives just enough coverage to make you feel confident, without the heaviness of normal foundation. My go-to is the Bubble Plus One Tinted Sunscreen. I love that it's a sunscreen but it also hydrates and gives light coverage as well. However, it won't suit all skin tones, so I'd also recommend trying something like the Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Moisturizer from ColourPop, which has a variety of different shades.

I like to apply my tinted moisturizer with just my hands but you can also use a makeup sponge if you want

Pro Tip: Always make sure to blend the product down your neck to avoid that awkward line where your face ends and your neck starts.

If you aren't allowed to wear tinted moisturizer but you still have a few zits you'd like to cover, give pimple patches a try. The clear kind naturally blurs zits a little bit, making them appear less red and noticeable. The downside is that they may sometimes fog up and become noticeable as you sweat.
