By the end of the week all the subjects had taken all the necessary classes and been assessed on their abilities in them.
On the one week anniversary of Earth's destruction the Inspector gathered all the subjects in the room where he had originally explained the jobs to them.
"As you know, your groups will be made up of four members of different specialties. The Spies, Assassins, Technical Workers, and the Leaders." He surveyed them in the emotionless way that seemed to be his trademark.
"Today you will be receiving not only your jobs, but your teams. These teams will be final, you will be working together for the rest of the year and when we arrive at the court."
Jaziline exchanged a look with Sam, who was standing beside her, she could tell they were both thinking the same thing.
How long was this meant to last?
"Now, I will be announcing the teams, there will be 13 of them. Along with the 13 teams there will be 2 Imperials-"
He was cut off by the subjects beginning to whisper. Sam, Calypsa, and Jaziline echoed the sentiment.
What the hell is an Imperial?
The Inspector sighed, before pressing a button on the console in front of him.
That's when the screams began.
Jaziline felt as if a thousand bullets had punctured her skull. She clutched her head in anguish, wishing nothing more than for it to end.
She looked at Sam and Calypsa for help, but they seemed to be experiencing the same the same tortures she was.
"I have humored you for long enough," the Inspectors said calmly, ignoring the children yelling in agony around him. "You will obey my commands, you will follow me without question, and you will remain silent when I speak."
Jaziline stared at the man in horror, he was torturing them. And what was worse was that he seemed completely apathetic to the pain he was inflicting.
Finally he released the button, removing the crushing pain from the children's skulls. They all shrunk back from him in terror. He just smiled.
"Now, let's try that again. There will be two Imperials, subjects chosen to to train directly beneath me. They will be the leaders of all the teams."
"The Imperials are subjects 17 and 18. Azaela and Alvaro Cahira." He announced, "Please stand."
All the subjects eyes turned to the blonde haired girl and boy who stood. They had been sitting beside each other, and if their name wasn't confirmation enough their appearances marked them as siblings. Perhaps even twins.
"Subjects 17 and 18, you are now the Imperials. In lieu of your afternoon lessons you will be training with me. You may sit"
As they retook their seats the Inspector turned his attention to the other subjects. "The members of Team 1 are subjects 3, 10, 31, and 40. Please move to sit at the table labeled 1."
Jaziline watched as four of the subjects moved to the table. The chairs were labeled with the numbers of the subjects and their job. She only recognized one of them. Maxim, the boy Calypsa had fought yesterday, sat in the chair labeled Assassin.
The calling of numbers continued until Jaziline heard her number, 34. She was with the numbers 12, 20, and 36. She recognized one of those numbers, 12 was Calypsa's number.
As she moved to sit at table seven she say that her name was on the chair for the Spy. Calypsa's was under Assasin, as she took a seat Sam appeared and took a seat at the Technical Workers chair. Apparently he was number 20.
Once they had been seated a tall, dark haired boy took a seat in the Leaders chair. His chair said subject 36, Leader. He turned his intense dark eyes on Jaziline, who was seated beside him.
He surveyed her slowly, seeming to take in every inch of her body. It almost seemed like he could see into her soul. When his eyes finally came to rest on her face she stared right back at him.
He smirked slightly, to which she raised an eyebrow. She leaned forward and offered her hand, "My name is Jaziline Grace, it's a pleasure." She stressed the last work sarcastically.
He laughed slightly at that, taking her hand and giving her one last probing look.
"I'm Jaõ Diego,"
A/N- Ahh!! I'm so exited to finally introduce him! I've been waiting so long! Anyway, Azalea and Alvaro are twins, if you were wondering. Pretty short, sorry about that.
Don't forget to vote.
