"Please!" Cried Emil, tears running down his face, "Don't take her!"
"I'm sorry Emil, but this is the best option for your sister." Explained Api
"I don't care! She can't leave us!" He screamed, big tears streaming down his face.
Jaziline pulled him and Vivi into a hug. "I wish I could take you with me. But I can't, I'm so sorry."
"Its time to go," said the Inspector irritably "I have other children to collect."
If looks could kill, the look Jaziline gave the Inspector would be a death sentence.
"I'm sorry if your schedule was interrupted by me saying goodbye to my family before you take me off to God knows where." Jaziline snapped.
The Inspector said nothing as Jaziline finished hugging her tear-stained family,
"Are we going to die Jaz?" Asked Vivi calmly, as if she had already accepted her fate.
Jaziline looked at her parents, who nodded, "Don't sugarcoat it," said their eyes
"Yes," said Jaziline "You are going to die."
Emil burst into uncontrollable tears, and that was the last sound Jaziline heard as she kissed her family goodbye for the last time.
She walked alongside the Inspector and boarded the plane, unable to face her family's tear stained faces.
As she boarded the plane she saw about thirty other kids, who looked around her own age. Their faces held everything from fear to denial to almost relief.
She sat down beside a red haired girl who looked about 17, "Subject 34 has been successfully retrieved," came a robotic voice from invisible speakers around them.
Jaziline turned to study the girl beside her, she had green eyes and vibrant red hair. Though she seemed a bit shell-shocked, there was definite relief in her features.
"So," said the girl without turning "Are you going to ask me something or are you just going to stare?"
Jaziline, taken aback by the girls abrupt question, asked "What number were you,?"
The girl seemed surprised by the question. "I was 12, and you were-?" "34," replied Jaziline.
"Well 34, what's your name?"
"Jaziline, Jaziline Grace."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Calypsa Antigua. I think we're going to be very good friends." Jaziline laughed, "I hope so."
She looked around the plane, noting the sleek, advanced build of it. It was certainly well made, but it seemed much too small to hold 50 teenagers for a whole year.
She sighed, sitting back in her chair. Just keep looking forward, she reminded herself, Looking back never helped anyone.
