I was ambling in the halls, passing by the maid's room, and listening to conversations..

"Did you hear about rashta's disappearance?"
"Of course, I have who hasn't!!"
"I think lady y/n would make a great empress."
"I have a feeling she's not going to do so well. I mean she's just a woman!"

I continue wandering around until someone taps on my shoulder. "My lady, there's a huge crowd outside the estate. They're trying to push their way into the estate just for answers." She looks down, silently.

I cussed under my breath, I sent the left over guards to keep the crowd out while the others are still patrolling farther west. "Quickly, find closer by patrols and send them front." I end before walking towards the gates.

Once I reached the estate entrance I stare blankly at the crowd behind the gates.

"Have you heard anything from your brother?!"
"Why did he disappear!!"
"Princess! What will you do now that the emperor is gone and you're next to the throne!"

I walk closer to the gate as some from the back scream for me to come forward so they too can hear what I would say. Though I never planned to answer their questions, no matter how much I told them to kindly leave. They insisted they'd stay even till midnight or longer just for answers.

"I found that a lot of gold has been taken. Even with that much gold, it can only last them a month or two considering their daily spending habits," I speak.

The news photographers snapped a few pictures for the papers.

"Princess, why do you think they would only last that short amount of time!?"

"It's clear they'd try to not be found as much as possible seeing as they've run away, and I'm sure my brother is well aware I'd find him if he were to get employment in this empire."

The rest yelled profanities at sovieshu. Getting agitated at reasons he could've abandoned the empire.

From behind me guards quickly came rushing, getting the public out of there.

Soon enough the news reached High priest vimirey.
"Princess, a letter arrived." A butler knocked at my door.

I open the door and take the letter, nodding my head in acknowledgment. I closed the door and opened the letter, walking over to my desk.

Opening the letter, I start reading, curious about who it could be from.

"Hello princess, word has caught up with me that the emperor and his mistress have gone missing. You never seemed like the type to want to become empress. Though it is none of my business, please do send back."

I send back a letter and get to bed.

"Princess, wake up. I do doubt you'll have much to discuss but priest vimirey will arrive later." A usual voice spoke.

I got out of bed, pushed aside the comforters, and got ready.

They placed a plate of biscuits and tea on the table while I left to go get things.

I place my hand on the door then opened it, closing the door behind me and walking down the steps. To be greeted by a stench.

"You all stink," I gagged,

Rashta's eyes were puffy and sovieshu didn't dare look at her, seems things happened and topics had been discussed.

The silence was so uncomfortable I almost choked. This tension would be enough phycological damage for rashta if it continues long enough, before I was about to leave rashta let out the most disturbing, irritating pterodactyl screech.

I hush her mid scream, almost immediately becoming pure silence.

Sitting on the couch, fidgeting out of boredom. High priest vimirey finally arrived.

We had a short chat before he left, just to come back in two days.
