"DON'T. She doesn't have evidence, we never abused her. We just gave her a lesson of who to love" mother screamed towards the judge.
The judge hit her hammer on the block thingy and said angrily "you don't interrupt each other if you're not in the same side of the room!"
Then their lawyer said something to mother that made her shut up.
"Now what were you saying, miss drew?" The judge asked me.
"Yes ma'am i do have evidence. If you don't mind, Chris will you come here please?" I asked Chris.
As Chris came we both put some clothes off to show our wounds/scars. "This is my brother, he is gay and mother used to throw glass objects at him all the time when she found out and that really messed with his mental health so he, well, he did this because of what mother did to him" i told the Judge as we were standing in front of her.
"These bruises and wounds on my body are pretty new as you can see. They have been abusing me for at least 10 weeks as you can see, they threw me out of the house 4 days ago and I've been staying with the O'Connell family ever since" i told the Judge.
"Alright, do you have more evidence?" The judge asked.
"Yes we have footage of them beating me up, and we have witnesses" i told them.
"Can the witnesses stand up please?" The judge asked as Alena and my grandparents stood up.
"Tell me what you have witnessed" the judge commanded."I took care of her wounds from day 1. I had to watch her get beaten up every time they abused her and they used to say 'and this is why you need to be straight' to me. If i told anyone about it they'd do the same to me. When they threw drew out of the house they said that if they find out i had contact with her they'd also do the same to me" Alena explained.
"Okay thank you, go sit back down. What about you two?" The judge asked my grandparents.
"Every time drew would come to visit she tried to cover her bruises and wounds with makeup, but as time came on we figured it all out. We didn't see her getting beat up, but we did see the damage they made to her throughout the time" my grandparents explained.
"And who is this little darling here?" The judge asked. "This is Roxy, our little sister of 2 years old. She kinda came as a mistake, but we kept her anyway" i told the judge.
"So where are you living now, Chris?" The judge asked.
"I'm living together with my boyfriend in our home" he said.
"Do you have anything to say, mister or miss. Klemens?" The judge asked as mother and dad stayed silent.
"You repeatedly said 'mother and dad', why do you call your mother not mom?" The judge asked me.
"Because a few years ago she asked everyone so Chris, Alena, Roxy and me to call her mother instead of mom" i answered.
"Why?" She asked . "I think she liked that more" i answered.
"No, actually it's an early sign of toxicity" the judge said making me shocked.
"If mister and miss. Klemens remain silent then we can discuss what happens if they get send to jail" the judge said as she waited a few minutes to give them time to talk but they stayed silent.
"Alright it's pretty clear that they don't deny it, let's discuss what will happen afterwards" the judge said.
"Where will you live, miss drew?" The judge asked.
"May i answer that?" Maggie asked. "Sure" the judge nodded.
"Drew will stay with us, as she has nowhere better to go to anyway. We will take care of her like she's our own daughter. We will take care of her in sickness and if she needs medical help" Maggie said with honesty making me smile.
