To make up for the previous short chapter, I've decided to upload another chapter today. Enjoy.
Reina silently groaned as her mother listed out the things she was supposed to do before their return. The list was getting long and Reina was getting frustrated.
"Let's go" she said to Daniel. "I don't want to go anymore." Daniel replied with a frown.
Sarah eyed her son but decided to deal with him later. She left angrily with Michelle, her daughter trailing after her.
"Now let's begin" Daniel said to Reina as soon as they left.
"Begin what?" Reina asked amused. Daniel rolled his eyes and left to start the chores.
"I love you" Reina screamed laughing happily.
Sarah was Daniel, Reina and Michelle's mother. Reina doesn't believe that she's her daughter because of the harsh treatment.
Ever since their father died, life became miserable for her. Sarah and Michelle made sure of that. Daniel was the only one who seemed to care about her
Daniel was eighteen, Reina sixteen and Michelle fourteen. Daniel and Reina were very close right from the very beginning.
Sarah tried everything possible to separate them but all her plans proved abortive.
Reina was averagely beautiful. She had a curly and long black hair that reached her back. Reina loved her hair. She always tied her hair up after Michelle threatened to cut it off due to her jealousy.
Daniel tried his best to stop his mom and sister from maltreating Reina but it wasn't possible. In order not to create hatred between Daniel and his mother, Reina stopped Daniel from defending her most of the time.
Daniel often wondered why Reina got treated badly. He was also beginning to think Reina wasn't their sister at all.
Miranda was shocked when she got to the office and didn't meet Leo. 'He probably has a meeting' she thought despite the fact that she wasn't aware of it.
After waiting for three hours and there was no sign of Leo. No calls, no texts, nothing. She tried to call him but there was no positive result.
Miranda decided to cancel and reschedule all his appointments for the day and check him at home.
She called her driver to drive her to Leo's house. Although, she had been there a couple of times, she couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the house.
She security recognized her as soon as he saw her and let her in. Leo's housekeeper too let her in as soon as she opened the door.
"Is everything alright with Mr. Beverly?" Miranda asked clearly worried.
Mia, Leo's housekeeper frowned. "He has been in a shitty mood since he woke up. Let me tell him you're here" Mia said and walked away.
Miranda heard muffled yelling and wondered what was going on. Mia came back fuming.
"Is everything alright?" Miranda asked carefully.
Mia sighed. "He's still upset and doesn't want to see anybody" Mia said.
Mira nodded. "Alright. Please send my regards. I'll..."
"Get the fuck out of my house" Leo yelled from the top of the stairs scaring the ladies.
"Leo!" Mia yelled. Miranda scoffed loudly. "I'm leaving. Asshole" she said and left.
She was only trying to be nice by checking on him. Who was he to be mean about it?
"Leo, what has come over you?" Mia asked. Leo frowned. "None of your business" he said harshly and left leaving Mia in shock.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Leo?" He asked himself. He turned around to go back to Mia.
She was in the kitchen trying to make lunch for him. Different thoughts kept whirling in her head. 'What had upset him so much?' she thought.
Leo went to hug her from behind. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry" he apologized.
"Are you ready to tell me what's wrong?" She asked hesitantly.
Leo sat down, his head in his palms. "I can't reach my brother. I haven't been able to reach him for three days now. Mia, I'm worried. What if something happened to him? What if he needs my help? I don't even know where he is." Leo said a few tears escaping his eyes.
Mia hugged him. "I'm sure he's fine. Give it a few days, I'm sure he'll contact you soon." Mia said.
Leo wrapped his arms around her waist. "Your hugs are as warm as my nanny when I was younger" Leo said.
Mia chuckled. "You've said so a million times." Mia replied.
"But you need to apologize to your secretary. She meant well" Mia said.
Leo groaned as he disengaged from the hug. " She probably hates me now. She called me an asshole" Leo complained.
"You acted like one, so it's expected. But nothing an apology won't solve." Mia consoled.
"Let me continue my cooking before you start whining about hunger" Mia said as she returned to what she was doing before.
"Let me help" Leo offered and began to help her. They talked as they worked.
Please, don't forget to vote.
Thank you.
