Cutie Pie New Beginnings: Stuck in The Zoo

Chapter 1: more of his kind?

Cutie pie looked around the enclosure. he sniffed, and smelled something he hasn't smelled ever since he was with his mother...

more liorats. but there was something strange about the smell of these ones. something unnatural. 

"h-hello?" cutie pie squeaked, continuing to look for them. and then, out of nowhere, an orange liorat with markings that are almost like lightning strikes and a mane like a thundercloud jumped in front of him! cutie pie jumped backwards and bowed down, trying to look as unthreatening as possible. "Well, well well... what do we have here?" he said. another, light yellow liorat, with a few specks of orange walked out from a bush. "a newcomer, this will be fun." another liorat, this time with coloration similar to a grey wolf, walked next to them both. "mhm." he said. something about these liorats seemed well, odd to cutie pie. he's seen liorats of his species before, but they never had colorations and markings like these... almost as if they were... artificial. he looked at the enclosure next to him, with much smaller common liorats (leonimurus insidior) in there. he looked back at the liorats and came to a conclusion. these liorats he's in the same enclosure with are unnatural hybrids. someone must have made them like them like that. "they're not a normal species of liorat," he thought. "They are abominations." 

"whats your name, pipsqueak?" the liorat with lightning markings said. "Cutie pie..." cutie pie replied. "PFFFFT..." the wolf-like liorat said. the liorat with lightning markings said "what a dumb name. who named you that?" "m-my mom..." cutie pie said, holding his head down. "so we have a momma's boy here? hilarious. im Lightning, the grey one is Lyca, and the light yellow one is Dune." Lightning said. "We were named after our unique traits, and you were named because your mom thought you were a cutie pie? HA!" Dune said. cutie pie snarled. "you probably wouldn't last a day in the wild. that's why you guys were probably born in this zoo. I was able to fight off a crazy fox AND avoid an eagle out there." the other liorats laughed. "you wouldnt last a day in the wild!" dune said mockingly. "well, we're going to be released into the wild soon, so how about you shut your mouth and we'll see who lasts a day in the wild!" he said. cutie pie sighed and walked away.
