Chapter 51

Without wasting any seconds, the team went to prepare themselves for the only battle they really needed to win.

They left Tony and Pepper in the compound while the rest hopped onto the Rocket's ship to finish the mission.

Buckling up, they were more than ready and eager to save the universe. They took off and left the earth's atmosphere as Rocket came to a halt.

Natasha was clearly looking around the ship and took in the arrangement that was slightly different from the Quinjets.

"Okay. Who here hasn't been to space?" Rocket asked as he glanced around the people in his spaceship.

Onky Steve, Natasha and Rhodey raised their hands.

"Why?" Rhodey asked curiously.

Carol chuckled.

"You better not throw up on my ship." Rocket warned before getting the focus back on the wheel.

"Approaching jump in three, two, one." Nebula announced.

Natasha gripped the seat tightly as the spaceship jumped through space in a high speed. Her eyes widened at the sight and she was trying hard not to throw up right now.

Within minutes, they arrived at a planet which Nebula referred as Thanos' Garden.

"I'll head down for recon." Carol said after getting out of the jet and flew across the planet.

Natasha unbuckled her seatbelt and stood in front of the window. She pulled out a slightly crumpled polaroid from her pocket that she had been carrying since you were gone.

She stared at the photo which showed how excited you were with the widest smile on your face, hugging her tightly on a Christmas morning.

A drop of tear fell onto her cheek at the memory.

"This is gonna work, honey." Steve said as he wrapped his arm across her shoulder while kissing her temple.

"I know it will." Natasha looked at him, "'Cause I don't know what I'm gonna do if it doesn't."

"No satellites, no ships, no armies. No ground defenses of any kind. It's just him." Carol said as soon as she flew back to the jet.

"And that's enough."

"Where are the stones?!"

Thanos was shocked at the sudden attack as Carol entered his hut and pinned him by his neck. Bruce and Rhodey followed suit as they both grabbed both of his arms in their armor suit.

The Mad Titan didn't get to say anything when Thor barged in and cut his whole wrist that had the gauntlet on perfectly with his axe, releasing a loud scream from him.

The cut hand dropped to the floor as Natasha, Steve, Rocket and Nebula walked into the hut.

Rocket walked towards the gauntlet and turned it over for the Infinity Stones.

"Oh no."

The words gained attention of the super spy and the super soldier as they looked at the gauntlet. Natasha frowned as Steve looked at her.

There were no stones on the gauntlet, just a useless gauntlet.

"Where are they?" Steve asked sternly.

"Answer the question." Carol tightened her pin on his neck.

Thor looked at the Titan in disbelief. He knew he couldn't run from the guilt if there were no Stones to fix the universe.
