"And that's the story of mommy's two heroes," Y/N said with a smile
"Is that the reason why my name is Akeime, mommy?"
Akeime Karalyne S. Haitani, the daughter of Y/N Haitani and Rindou Haitani
Y/N smiled, "yes, love. It's from aunt Akeisha and uncle Hajime."
It's been six years since the tragic incident took place. Six years since fate decided to put a twist on their story.
They tried; they really did. For four months, their friends would visit the hospital every single day in hopes that one day they would both wake up. For four months, their friends would silently pray that Akeisha would walk to them with her bright smile, or Kokonoi talking about budget plan.
But I guess, they were really meant for each other. Akeisha left first, her heart gave up and no matter how much effort they placed in resuscitating her, she didn't came back. Six hours later, Kokonoi Hajime, left as well. On the same day.
"Then mommy, can we visit them tomorrow? I wanna say thank you to them because they saved you," Akeime said while brushing her doll's hair
This made Y/N smile, "yes baby, let's do that."
"Do what?" they both looked at the front door at the voice of the man they love the most
"Daddy!" Akeime got off Y/N's lap and ran to him
"Hi princess, it's late at night already. Why are you still up?" Rindou asked as he carried her while kissing her cheek
"I waited for daddy!" Akeime giggled at his ticklish kisses, "tickles!"
Rindou smiled, "so what are you planning to do with mommy tomorrow? Can daddy come?"
"Akeime wants to visit aunt Akeisha and uncle Hajime daddy. You'll come with us? Not busy?"
Rindou smiled sadly at the mention of the names he treasured a lot, "no, daddy's not busy."
"You ate already, love?" Y/N asked as she kissed her husband
"Yes, Ran took me out for dinner saying he wants company," Rindou rolled his eyes, "I was supposed to join you for dinner."
Y/N chuckled as she loosens up his tie, "just understand him. You know, single man things."
Rindou chuckled and kissed Y/N all over her face, "ah, I'm home."
"Yeah, but you need to put Akeime to bed, she wants you to tuck her in."
Rindou nodded and carried Akeime to her room. Y/N went to their bathroom inside their bedroom and prepared the tub for Rindou, knowing he was tired from work. She smiled as she remembers how her cousin would tell her this is a wife thing to do.
Oh, Akeisha. You would have enjoyed Akeime so much, she's talkative like you, Y/N thought
"What are you thinking?" Rindou softly asked as he wrapped his arms from behind
"Nothing, just remembered Akeisha," she answered as she leaned on him, "Koko saved me too when Hanma shot me, right? He drove the car for you."
Rindou nodded, "yeah, it's too bad he didn't even get to meet Akeime."
"But our angel has five playmates now," Y/N smiled, "Renzo, mom, dad, Akeisha and Hajime."
Rindou chuckled, "I just know he's happy right now with them," he said and kissed her shoulder, "but it would have been happier if they stayed."
Y/N faced him and gave him a comforting smile, "let's just catch up to them once our time comes, and we'll be one big happy family by then."
Rindou nodded, "for now, can you make me happy and join me in the tub? It's kinda boring by myself you know."
Y/N chuckled and gave in to his request anyway
Akeisha Karalyne Sato and Hajime Kokonoi, oh how amazing it would be if the world didn't play dirty tricks on them
How amazing it would have been if they ended up together
But sometimes, some story are just meant to start but is never meant to end the way we planned it to
All we have is now, nobody is promised tomorrow – so live in the moment, don't be afraid to fall in love, take risks
Live. Live for yourself.
END
a/n: i really meant for this story to end this way, to show the essence of time. there is no such thing as perfect, all we have is now. make use of the opportunities you have, don't overthink things. live. live a life where you'd look back and not regret the chances you didn't take :)
